Wandering around the garden this afternoon, I discovered the yellow emu bush was in full flower. There must be literally hundreds of flowers on this bush. I've never seen it quite like this before.

Autumn colours are not common in the Narrabri climate. We seem to go pretty quickly from summer to winter with only a short intermediate period so even deciduous trees don't really have much time to do the colour thing. Today walking around the lake I noticed these two trees.
