A survey by Chinese scientists has discovered that the last 26 years of warming has caused a global increase in the amount of vegetation. In other words the last 30 years or so have improved the environment rather than causing the devastation that ideological environmentalists would have us fear. Although the paper puts this increase in vegetation down to the warmer temperatures, it is also likely that the increased concentration of CO2 has helped.

Another paper investigates the causes of the warming and finds that the combination of the Arctic Oscillation and the Pacific Decadal Oscillation- both of which are well known natural variations- can explain the warming that has taken place.

Don't expect the Greens or other leftists to back down any time soon, because it's never been about the science. The government won't be abandoning taxes on carbon dioxide any time soon either.
