Scripture
Think of the things of heaven not the things of earth.

Observation
we have been raised to a new life with Christ and our dwelling place is in heaven. Sure, we don't experience the fullness of this yet, but the reality is that when we came to Christ we died to our old life.

When Christ is revealed we will share in his glory- all of it. We will be seen to be more than just what we appear to be, for all the glory of the grace of God will shine through us.

Application
For this reason we need to learn to see our whole life from God's perspective. We must pursue God's goals not our own.

This goes beyond merely being good people or even pursuing holiness, although these are important.

My desires need to be subject to God's will for me. My life ambitions, my hops and dreams, the things I do and want- all subject to God.

The more that I seek God's purposes for my life, the more I will experience the reality of heaven now.

Prayer
Father help me to train my mind to focus on your values, heavenly values rather than on my own desires. Amen.
