Ubuntu One

One of the brilliant extra features of Ubuntu is the Ubuntu One service which is basically their cloud service.

It is really easy to use. You initially access it from "System Settings" and sign up for a free account.

Having done that, the system adds a "Ubuntu One" folder to your home directory and a short-cut in the Nautilus file manager. It is then just a matter of copying any file to that folder to get it uploaded to the Ubuntu One server.

Then you can work on it from any computer running Ubuntu. Once you sign in, all changes are automatically synchronised. Dead easy!

Ubuntu also provide music sharing and a whole bunch of other features. Storage up to 2G is free.

There is a Windows app available also.

Having just used this for the first time to transfer files to my laptop, I found it easy to set up and use.
