It appears that global warming is not just a problem for the earth- it is actually causing stars to explode.
Here is a graph of the number of supernovae observed against the global temperature:

Of course it is just possible that the rise in supernova observations (red line) is caused by the drop in the price of the technology from the mid 1980's which caused many more amateur astronomers to be able to look for them.
It is interesting that there is a better correlation of this than the supposed cause of the warming- atmospheric CO2 concentration.
