God Is Moving

In the last church Update I wrote this:

We are in a new season with God. Officially Lent started on Wednesday, and I think God is doing something new at this time. The word Lent comes from the Latin word for spring, so the season is about new life, renewal and growth. We have been having many more people come into the church building for all sorts of reasons lately and finding ourselves having quite deep conversations with people. Let's pray that these lead to people coming to know the reality of life with Christ.

I found this morning that this "something new" is continuing. There seemed to be more life in the singing this morning, and preaching seemed somehow easier than it does sometimes. A couple of families whom I was expecting to be absent were present which was quite encouraging.

The theme of people coming in continues with this afternoon one family in the church and another simultaneously in the house. We were planning to go and visit a couple who've been away for a while, but it took away to clear away all of our visitors. When we did get away, it turned out the couple we wanted to see weren't home anyway.

I am not a fan of being busy for the sale of being busy. But when you are in the business of serving God's Kingdom, it is exhilarating when the Spirit of God starts to move.

  1. Amen on "it is exhilarating when the Spirit of God starts to move" on a place and in our life, which makes me think that it's not so much about you getting more of the Holy Spirit -it's about the Holy Spirit getting more of you. keep moving on my brother.

  2. I agree!God is really doing something. At the night service it was like there was electricity in the air. You could actually feel the Holy Spirit. We are seeing some manifestations of the Holy Spirit activating very dramatically in some people also. Exciting times!

  3. Amen on the electricity in the air. and the Holy Spirit is kinda like electricity as with electricity, you can't see it, but you can see what it produces. and if it ever gets ahold of you, your definitely gonna feel it… yah, it's definitely gonna move you.
