In the busy-ness of this week, I've missed a few days of taking photos.
Today I made amends by travelling to Wee Waa, about 40 km from here. I went there to deliver some books hop catalogues to the churches there.
Wee Waa is a smaller town than Narrabri, about 2000 people.
Every time I go to Wee Waa I'm fascinated by the lagoon, which is like an oasis in what is often a dry environment. This time, even though I was running late due to a long chat with the new Presbyterian minister, I decided to just stop for a couple of minutes. I could make a habit of this on future trips!
I don't think I've ever seen this bird before. It was quite comfortable with my presence and it was actually quite hard to see in the shadows.
If there are any Australian bird experts who can enlighten me about the name of this bird, I would be appreciative.
After the trip to Wee Waa, I had a late lunch and then I had to get ready for the Kids' Group. Usually we have 6 or so. Today it was 10 and they were more active than ever!
