Week 6 Holy Week April 1- 7
Theme: The Cross
Sunday 1st
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galatians 3:13-14
This week as we come close to the mystery of salvation- the cross- we need to recall that salvation is not just a theory. God became flesh and on a particular day in history at a specific place in the world, He laid down His life to purchase our salvation. Christ redeemed us from the curse of sin. Today, pray for a greater insight of the cost of our redemption.
Monday 2nd
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:9-11
Jesus is the sacrifice whose death takes our sin away. He is the fragrant offering to God who removes our guilt. In the Old Testament animal sacrifices were offered repeatedly for the forgiveness of sins, but Jesus is the once for all sacrifice, the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. Pray that God will open your eyes to the depth of this revelation.
