We've had a fair bit of rain this week and the river is quite high.

I was talking to the Shire Engineering Director on Tuesday. He told me that he had had to go out to the Violet Street bridge twice the night before to make the decision about whether to take the railings down or not. He decided to leave them up, and it turns out he was right. The water didn't quite get up to the bridge, although it got close.
