John Hagee's book "The Power of the Prophetic Blessing" left me feeling rather dsappointed.
There is nothing wrong with this book but I think he doesn't quite hit the mark with it.
Part of the problem for me is that although the major examples he talks about are of fathers blessing sons, he doesn't make that connection as such. He sees the ability to speak blessing into lives as being related to authority, which it is. The authority that God gives though comes through spiritual fathers and biological fathers and mothers,
One might think that to give a "prophetic blessing" one should be a prophet, but as he makes clear it is the blessing which is prophetic not the person giving the blessing.
I found that John Alley's books "The Aposotlic Revelation" and "The Spirit of Sonship" give a better description of how blessing works in the life of the follower of Jesus,
If I were giving star ratings, I would probably give this book 3 out of 5.
