One of the unexpected effects of any prayer project is that when you spend time with God, He takes hold of the agenda. Usually that means dealing with sin.
God has called us to be holy, that is set apart for Him. It's impossible to be holy while you are still giving honour to the idols in your life- greed, selfishness, anger, lust, insecurity.
While I am praying for God to send the rain, He is asking me to give myself.
I find it easier to call out to God with words than to engage in real repentance, a turning away from my sin and towards God.
God is more interested in my relationship with Him than in my intercession- even when the intercession comes as a result of His direction.
He doesn't want my words, He wants me. When I let my words or my actions become the focus of what I do for God then I am back in the trap of religion. It is all about Him, everything is about Him.
So Lord, send the rain, send your Spirit-rain, and send me the grace of repentance.
Your honesty is both an encouragement and a blessing.

Thanks, Susan. We all sin, even pastory people, and we all need to repent continuously.
