Before Christmas we had a few snake sightings around the church building, mainly near the front part. I came to the conclusion then that the long dry spell was forcing them to move away from their normal haunts in search of water, and they were finding it at our water feature at the front door.

We had some rain on Christmas Day so I left doing anything in case the rain had solved the problem. It did- until yesterday afternoon when I saw a black snake half in the waterfall.

The water feature is now empty and turned off until the weather turns cooler or wetter.

UPDATE: Went to get into the car a little while ago and saw a black snake in the garage- possibly the same one. Time for a bit of a clean out I think.
