The BOM and the Climate Commission have been selling the line that last summer was the hottest ever in Australia.

A few people had their doubts, but their voices were lost in the media hype. Nobody from BOM has made available the data or methodology for calculating the temperatures, so who could doubt them?

Satellite data for Australia shows that the summer was pretty close to average.

Looks well short of a record to me.
