It's been a busy day. First a trip to the Doctor to get a couple of jabs.
Then it was into the big clean.
Last Monday, Tim got into the demolition business. The side of our garage is actually a free standing wall of old style cement bricks with mrore hole than cement- probably home made. I remember as a boy, helping my dad pour cement mix into moulds. Unfortunately the wall was starting to look like it belongs in Pisa. Tim decided it had to come down.
I wasn't too worried because I thought it would take him a month or two. He got stuck into it and by yesterday the part of the wall slated for demolition was gone. That meant we had an opportunity to get into our accumulated "that might be useful one day" pile and remove it. We had roadworks outside our house today which made getting the trailer into and out of the yard difficult, so our original plan of loading the trailer and then taking it all to the tip got changed. It's all sitting in the yard and I'll tip it next week.
David Baxter organised some steel rails from Metaland and he's installing them. When our Laser Light panels arrive at the hardware, we will be able to close the garage in again and have a fairly dust-proof, weather-proof room with a view and lots of light.
It's quite a big project that in a day went from "one day" to right now.
The Bible talks about a concept of time called "kairos" or appointed time. Life goes on uneventfully and then suddenly God does something and everything changes immeasurably. The "one day" becomes right now.
We need to be looking out for what God is doing and make sure that we are ready for those kairos times, otherwise we can be in danger of missing what God is doing.
