Ashton Agar- Wow!

I'm not a huge fan of cricket as such- I'd rather hear a 30 second summary of a day's play in a Test than sit and watch the whole lot.

Ashton Agar is a 19 year old bowler who made his internaitonal debut yesterday against the old enemy, England. He entered the batting at No 11 (i.e. bottome of the order) with Australia 98 runs behind. Nobody expected anything of him but he made 98- a bowler, in his first innings, aganst England.

By th time he had finished, Australia had gone from well behind to pretty much ahead. And Agar had set four records, including the most runs scored by a number 11 batsman.

Agar admitted he was well supported by legend Phil Hughes who encouraged him along the way and also managed to not ge tout himself.

A very classy act for one so young.

If he can keep his head together, he should become a powerful all-rounder in the next decade or so.
