I've never been a great fan of reunions because the past is not my home. We made some great friends in our four years of living in Hay and so Margaret and I went with to the Hayseeds 2013 reunion with a great deal of interest.

We found out some interesting things

• Despite getting on in years (and in some cases kilograms) they are a remarkable healthy lot. A great testimony to wholesome lifestyles.
• Despite "just" being teachers and other lowly professions, many have risen to high levels in various denominations and other christian organisations
• Real friends stay friends despite long distances and many years of separation
