Apostolic Summit Session 8

John Alley

Psalm 126:1-5

Vanity-thinking you can do anything on your own without the Lord. Must be diligent and work hard. If you do it yourself without the Lord, or do it your own way, it will fail. You can do a lot of work and it comes to nothing, or, worse, the Lord blows it away.

It is vain to get up early and toil late, if we do it in anxiety because we don’t trust the Lord. With God we get a better yield for less labour.

Children are a heritage from the Lord. To say that someone should have no more children is to speak a curse. We have freedom in Christ to decide for ourselves but not for others.

In ministry you need sons. We must raise sons.

Apostolic Summit Session 7

The anointing for impartation is here!

Pharisees could not recognise Jesus because they refused to be baptised by John. Anointing to recognise Jesus.

To receive an impartation just rest in the Holy Spirit.

Prayer for Australia.

The Main Thing: The apostolic message

1989 God spoke to John about restoration of Apostles. People were responsive

November 1996. Month of prayer for Rockhampton. Weight of sin of the city was on them

February 1997. Week of fervent prayer. God did not allow anyone to pray. God was saying they had hardened their hearts, needed to sit and listen until He was ready to speak. Thursday the following week, God spoke about a coming judgement. Told John to go to the nations with a message. Friday night at prayer meeting ominous sense of judgement on the church. Saturday was about judgement on the leadership.

Resolution : the church had to embrace the apostolic message and support John in the apostolic. Then John experienced this sense of impending doom and judgement for himself.

Vision: standing before a mountain that extended upward, narrow path. Jesus asked “Can I take you on a journey?” Found the grace to say Yes. Two difficult years followed, but had knowledge that the Lord was leading him.
2002. Three moves of Holy Spirit. Whatever God calls John to, he calls all of us to. Also, whatever God has promised John He promises to all of us.
Chuck came in 2002 with the message about sonship. God told him this message will change the nation. Then told John to take this message to the nation.
We need to be worshipping and praying in holy fear, knowing that we are on holy ground
2 Peter 1:3-5. We are called to the excellence of God. We are meant to be partakers of God’s excellence. We are to supplement faith with this excellence.

Hallmark of the apostle is gentleness which is the moral excellence referred to in 2 Peter

Listening Lifestyle – prioritise listening prayer

Word from the Lord.:“Take responsibility for the apostolic message”

Big issue for the church:Apostles were still valid, but how does the church relate to that calling to be an apostolic people? Is the church supposed to use its resources to support the apostolic ministry?
To take responsibility means more than cheering on the others

Need to shoulder some of the burden. Mark 10:34-45. Can you drink the cup I drink?  Who wants to take this on without God’s call?
God said to Cain, “Where is your brother? “Cain’s response is an apostolic question, “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

Pastors need to care about the whole body. To just care about my own people, that is Cain’s error. Apostles are supposed to present the Bride to Christ so to be apostolic means burden for the whole church not just my own ministry This means we must pray for them.
Pray for real apostles to emerge and for the apostles you know.
Haggai 1:1-8. The Lord’s house is the church. People are so concerned building their own house, but we need to be concerned with the Lord’s house.

Apostolic Summit Session 5

It’s not hard to close the demonic portals. They are put there by human efforts so people under the authority of Jesus can close them through the blood of Jesus.

Unclean sacrifices are outweighed by the righteous sacrifice of Jesus

Bob Hauselman

Luke 6:12-13.First time term apostle is used. Speak on behalf of someone else

1 Corinthians 12. Not everyone is an apostle or prophet, but everyone is something. We are all part of the body

Ephesians 4. Five fold ministry goal is about building up the body not about some people looking good

Pastors are seen as top rung in church. But in Acts there are no pastors. Apostles and prophets are at the foundation.

In Cuba many people have gone out claiming to be apostles and prophets, taking money and honour. Apostles and prophets are meant to be the foundation that empowers the church not take power away.

Apostolic anointing brings familial aspect to church that replaces hierarchy and corporate governance.

We need to receive ministry of apostles. Need to recognise who they are by the Holy Spirit. Takes a revelation.

Philip snatched out of great meetings in order to share gospel with one man who took gospel to Ethiopia.

“I am willing to spend and be spent….”

Father and son model is the key to world evangelism

2 Timothy 2:1-2. We are saved because Paul instructed Timothy as a father to a son

Who is qualified to share the gospel? The demoniac man got healed, went home and told people what Jesus had done for him. Jesus commissioned him to share the gospel.

We are transformed by seeing Jesus and imitating Him.

What you are waiting for is already residing in you. Just believe the word of God!

We need to stir up the gift that is in us.

Apostolic Summit Session 4

Prayer for Peru.

Gates of Hades.

Jim Anderson. Last 20 years in high valley in Peru

Gates of Hades are spirit portals opened by areas of particular violence or occultic practices. Like a funnel for demons.

All through the Andes peaks are Gates of Hades established by human sacrifice. Sense of crushing weight. The city and valley named ‘I am dying.”

Development of Apostles
Apostles go through long process of testing, and are finally approved by God.

1 Corinthians 4:1- entrusted by God that

1 Thessalonians 2: 3-4 – approved, entrusted,  tested.

The testing is to teach us how to trust.

Also tests of honesty, integrity.

Tests in life you don’t know it’s a test

1 Peter 1:5-7… tested genuiness of your faith.

James 5:10-11. Remain steadfast in the Lord.

Three stages in development of an apostle

  1. Call.
  2. Time of preparation and tests. Ministry graces.
  3. Positioned to represent Christ personally. More difficult trials. Love, maturity, humility.

Apostolic Summit Session 3

John Alley and Bob Hauselman

Psalm 133. Give hearts to leaders brings anointing that runs down the robe of the High Priest (Christ). Robe =covering
Isaiah 4:2-6. Mount Zion represents the church. The Lord will create a cloud by day, fire by night, a canopy, shelter, shade, refuge. This is covering.
Revelation 7:15-16. He who sits on the throne will be their shelter
We are not called to be independent but interdependent.
God does not hide things from us, but He does hide things for us, usually in other people.
It’s not the quality of the father that matters, but the attitude of our heart as a son. David’s attitude towards Saul.
We choose to know an apostle no longer according to the flesh. When you give your heart to someone and love them regardless of the outward appearance, then the Lord opens your eyes to see a greater glory.
Bob and John are each other’s covering.
Apostle needs to have love and trust of local church. Where there is a breakdown in local leadership, apostle is called on by the church to come and bring correction or whatever is needed.
Apostolic council – senior leaders who can be called in if the apostle can’t come.

Apostolic Summit Session 2

John Alley

Denominations provide covering of a kind, but it is a human covering Spiritual dimension. Leadership that is holy, transparent provides a spiritual protection and blessing. A force field. Pastors need covering- apostles. Ideal is to have unity in city-wide church with city elders. No matter how mature you are in the ministry, you still need to be able to honour someone who is over you in the Lord. Spiritual fathering is distinct from covering, but apostolic covering should become fathering. Jesus submitted to the authority of another man, John the Baptist of it was only then that He became the Christ, the anointed one. Abraham submitted to Melchizedek by means of a tithe. This connection brought spiritual power. Spiritual covering provides a connection like the connection of pipes that lets water flow from a tap.

David Kelly from Freedom Center Kentucky

Had been looking for a spiritual father that denominations could not provide. John also feels richer in the relationships Proper covering brings clarity and confidence. Place of protection and provision that changes everything. John came at a time of drought which ended after John’s visit. Also after this their landlord deeded the church property at no cost. Church experiencing freedom, healing etc John experienced opening up of the apostolic ministry in churches in Australia when he received Chuck as his father. This is a time when all of our societal systems are fracturing and groaning. It’s a time when God is releasing apostolic covering and the church will be anointed to provide the covering that replaces the traditional sources.

Ross Blamey,  Victoria

The apostolic message is not about planting churches with an apostolic flavour. We need to get the message into the church and into God’s people. We need to guard what is coming into our lives.

Apostolic Summit Thursday Night

Here are my notes from Session 1 of the Apostolic Summit.

John Alley gave an overview of the restoration of apostolic ministry

The apostles were seen as just the original 12.
Considered to be “Holy ground”
For ten years John presented an apologetic for restoration of apostles.
Mid 1990s seismic shift. The Lord was not just restoring apostles, but restoring apostolic nature of the church. This would change the church world wide.
This is a huge task that will take multiple generations.
Many have since jumped on the bandwagon, appropriating the title. Everybody wants to be the latest and greatest. Self-appointed.
When the Lord brings it all to order, there will be fewer apostles than we thought, and we will be surprised who the true apostles are.
Many of those who build big churches are not apostles, but excellent pastors and churches.
Most of the people with apostolic gifts are not apostles. Most of us have gifts relating to 5-fold but are not pastors etc.
Many claim to be apostles without being commissioned by the Lord.
Example. David anointed to be king, but was not the king for many years. He had kingly properties but was not the king.
You can have a strong anointing but not be an apostle.
2 Peter 1:1-2. Sent to those who “have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours.” Talking about faith of those in leadership in the church.
To exercise a governing authority in the church you need to be commissioned by Christ.
We are in a season of transition moving towards the apostolic church.
The trouble is that if everyone is an apostle nobody is.
Korah’s rebellion. He was a Levite but wanted more than. Like pastors who call themselves apostles, teachers wanting to be prophets.
Revelation 2:2-4. They tested those who called themselves apostles
Central to apostles’ teaching is to lead the church in love for God and for one another. Jesus as the new High Priest gave a new law: to love one another as He has loved us.
If someone comes claiming to be an apostle if they don’t have love they are not an apostle.
True apostle

  • no envy
  • not sectarian
  • no sense that their network is the only true group
  • no denominationalism
  • not competitive
  • serves others
  • takes lowest place
  • humble
  • considerate of others
