Finland Electricity Prices Drops to BELOW ZERO Due to Efficiency of Nuclear Power Plants

This is what common sense looks like.

Insider: Finland was dealing with an unusual problem on Wednesday: clean electricity that was so abundant it sent energy prices into the negative. While much of Europe was facing an energy crisis, the Nordic country reported that its spot energy prices dropped below zero before noon (Insider).

Marian L Tupy: Finnish electricity price drops BELOW ZERO after the latest nuclear reactor is switched on. That is what the world could have looked like if the greens did not stop humanity from expanding nuclear power. Remember: nuclear power = no CO2 emissions (Twitter)

As we detailed in early May, the transition from testing to regular output last month saw Finland’s first nuclear power-plant drive electricity prices dramatically lower.

by Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge, May 25, 2023 – 02:45 AM

As yle reports, the Olkiluoto 3 nuclear reactor in Eurajoki, southwest Finland, started regular electricity production in mid-April, about 14 years behind schedule

Since then prices for power in Finland have continued to plunge as the efficiency of the plant flooded the grid with ‘new’ energy.

So much in fact that early on Wednesday of last week, the market price for electricity dropped below zero cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and for hours after that the price was only 0.3 cents per kWh at its highest, according to the country’s grid operator, Fingrid.

That was unacceptable and prompted the plant’s owner, Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) to significantly cut back its output…

Electricity production must also be profitable for nuclear power plants, and when the price is particularly low, there may be situations where output is limited,” TVO communications manager, Johanna Aho, said.

According to Aho, cutting back on nuclear power production due to excessively low electricity prices is very rare, but not unheard of.

Janne Kauppi, an energy markets advisor at Finnish Energy, agreed with that sentiment.

“There haven’t been many situations where nuclear power output has been regulated specifically because of low prices,” Kauppi explained.

“When prices go negative on the electricity market, basically anyone who can adjust their production will do it, so that they don’t have to pay for their own production,” Kauppi noted.

The Finnish example is a testament to how nuclear can play a part in solving the current energy crisis, with consumers still paying sky-high fees for energy in many European countries.

However, the hypocrisy is of course that when power prices were extremely high in 2022, hurting consumers – it was all Russia’s fault; but now that prices are plummeting, operators can’t have that and withdraw supply to hurt consumers.

Do you see a pattern here?

Quote for the Day

Seeing Messianic prophecy fulfilled absolutely strengthens our faith, but at the end of the day, we have to come to a place on the inside that through our own personal experience we have found that God is real, He loves us, and we can trust Him. Kirt Schneider

Reflection on Matthew 12: 31-37

Scripture

“So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit which will never be forgiven.”

Observation

Jesus continues his rebuke against the Pharisees.

Every sin can be forgiven except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. People who speak against Jesus may be forgiven, but not those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit.

A good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. The fruit of the Pharisees is bad because their hearts are bad.

A good person produces good things from the goodness in their heart. Everyone will give an account on Judgement Day for every word, good or bad.

Application

Many Christians have been anxious about the unforgivable sin and whether or not they may have committed it. Well, if you are concerned about whether you are guilty of this sin, it is almost certain that you are not guilty. The anxiety itself is a sign of a heart that is seeking after God.

The context of this saying of Jesus is important. He is talking to the Pharisees in response to their claim that Jesus is doing ministry, including miracles, under the power of satan.

Where people are so trapped into a false religious dogma that they attribute the works of God to satan, then they are in danger of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

This sin is unforgivable because people who have sunk to this level of depraved confusion will not recognise the conviction of sin that the Holy Spirit brings to us.

Self-righteousness blocks God’s righteousness from entering our lives and condemns us to hell.

Prayer

Jesus, please protect me from every form of religious thinking that deflects your grace. Amen.

Gary Demar: The Eschatological Craziness Continues

The Eschatological Craziness Continues

The Eschatological Craziness Continues

The Red Heifers have arrived in Israel! So says the May 22, 2023, article “Prophetic Anticipation Builds: Unblemished Red Heifers for Temple Ceremony Soon Come of Age.” The claim is, based on Numbers 19, the heifers need to be at least 3 years old for priestly purification purposes. For that you need priests, animal sacrifices, and a physical temple, all of which passed away when the temple was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70. None of this has anything to do with Bible prophecy as I pointed out in a previous article.

Anyone making anything of this is going back to the rituals of the Old Covenant that Jesus fulfilled. When Jesus said, “It’s finished,” He meant it. I can understand why some religious Jews believe that heifers are important but not Christians, and yet many Christians get excited about red heifers and calls to rebuild the temple as if it has anything to do with Bible prophecy. Read the book of Hebrews.

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things having come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made by hands, that is, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all time, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (9:11-14)

Jesus is the endpoint of its fulfillment. End of story. But it seems it’s never the end.

Did you know that AI, Artificial Intelligence is found in the Bible? No? Neither did I. But there it is, big as day. The city of Ai. That’s right! It’s been there all the time. Here’s how it goes:

[M]ight there be a biblical connection to AI? The answer is yes, according to a popular author known for illuminating Scriptures. “Ai is actually mentioned in the Bible,” says Joe Kovacs, author of the best-selling “Reaching God Speed: Unlocking the Secret Broadcast Revealing the Mystery of Everything.”

“No, it’s not an abbreviation for artificial intelligence. It’s a single word spelled A-i, and can be pronounced like each of its letters, as in ‘a’ and ‘i.’

“It’s the name of an ancient Canaanite city, and it packs an incredible significance for today when we examine Ai on the spirit or metaphor level. “This was a real, historical place, but it carries an additional parable meaning as well, since Jesus only spoke to people in parables, and ‘did not say anything to them without using a parable’ (Matthew 13:34). He, of course, is still speaking to everyone through every word in the Bible.”

Kovacs explains the first key to unlocking the mystery is to understand the meaning of the word ‘Ai,’ which can be translated as ‘Ruin’ or ‘a heap of ruins.’ “That’s big hint No. 1, the fact that Ai actually means ruin or a heap of ruins, coming from a Hebrew verb meaning to bend, twist, pervert and distort, all leading to ruin,” Kovacs explains.

“God says He’s ‘declaring the end from the beginning’ (Isaiah 46:10), so right from the start of something, He’s broadcasting the end result, its future conclusion.” Interestingly, the author notes, the ancient town of Ai happened to be located “beside Bethaven, on the east side of Bethel.” (Joshua 7:2)

“When we learn the meanings of these places, it provides even more clues,” says Kovacs. “Bethel means ‘house of God’ and Bethaven means ‘house of vanity (nothingness)’ or ‘house of plenty of trouble.’

“So Ai, the place of ruin, was closely associated with the house of vanity, nothingness, and plenty of trouble. That sounds a whole lot like our world today.

The article goes on to make “metaphorical” associations to what’s happening today and ends with, “God may be using this ancient event as a divine hint, a physical example of what today’s AI may bring if artificial intelligence twists, distorts and perverts the truth.”

There’s nothing wrong with comparing events in Scripture to what’s taking place in our day but linking the city of Ai to Artificial Intelligence in anyway is Scripture Twisting like the way the Hebrew word rosh in Ezekiel 38-39 is said to refer to modern-day Russia. There are no linguistic, etymological, or historical correlations. It’s fulfilled prophecy.

Jennifer Marohasy: Coral Snapshot 2022-23, & All the Unanswered Questions

From the IPA
ORIGINALLY APPEARED IN JENNIFER MAROHASY’S WEBSITE

Full marks to David Mills, writing in the Courier Mail, for asking why the government tends to bury good news reports about the Great Barrier Reef.

There are a few other questions that I would like answered.

Key government ministers, marine scientists, and climate scientists have been unable to acknowledge:

Q1. Overall coral cover has been increasing since at least 2009 (14 years).

Q2. According to official underwater surveys – that are perimeter surveys – coral cover is at a record high.

I know Sky Television legend Rowan Dean has been in trouble with the press watchdog over this good news claim. But it seems pretty straightforward, quoting from the most recent relevant government report:

Widespread recovery has led to the highest coral cover recorded by the Long-Term Monitoring Program in the Northern and Central Great Barrier Reef …

Q3. These perimeter surveys under estimate coral cover, claiming it to be less than 40%, when coral cover is often more than 90% at the crest of the same reef.

Corals around the outside/perimeter of reefs are particularly susceptible to cyclone damage.

The official surveys of coral cover are somewhat misleading because the survey is done of just one habitat type, the reef perimeter. Most of the coral is at the reef crest. The survey of John Brewer reef followed the track shown by the yellow, orange and green lines.

Q4. The number and intensity of cyclones has been decreasing since at least the 1970s. Something the Bureau of Meteorology is unable to acknowledge. Why?
