Apostolic Summit 2024- Session 4

In this session, John shares the history of how he came into the apostolic ministry.

From 2002, anywhere John went to preach the Apostolic message, it would rain, even in places that are normally very dry.

In 1994, John started a relationship with Chuck Clayton. Although the Lord was raising John as an apostle, he himself needed an apostle for spiritual covering.

He was teaching father/son relationships, but it was just theory. Formalised the relationship, declared they had apostolic covering, but it was still theory.

In 2002, at Family Camp, they had a strong move of the Holy Spirit. God revealed what it means to relate to God as Father.

Later that year, Chuck came to preach. John was behind in his tithes to Chuck. John gave him cash on his arrival. First meeting was at Oakey. John declared him the apostle. It started to rain, and the rain kept up until the end of the Summit, the following Sunday.

During the Summit, John received an outpouring of love for Chuck. It was a work of the Holy Spirit. John had become a son to a father. Tony Ponicke received the same breakthrough in his relationship with John.

Important steps

  • John sorted his tithe
  • He honoured Chuck
  • Result was breakthrough in relationships and finances

John was changed. He received grace and confidence to preach with power all over the world.

The Lord gave John a download about the relationship between Elijah and Elisha. The thing that made it possible for Elisha to receive the double portion from Elijah was that he longed to be with him.

  1. Maturity of relationships
  2. Depth of longing for connection
  3. See something in father to appreciate what is in them.

Chuck had much more to offer John, but it wasn’t until John’s heart was changed so that he could see what Chuck had that he could receive it.

Father /son relationships (wholehearted, love for leaders) are the key for ministry. You have to love your pastor. Senior ministers must have proper apostolic covering.

Apostolic Summit 2024. Session 3

As John Alley says, “We are Australian and we are civilised people. We do not skimp on morning tea.”

Morning tea is a good time to hang out with your mates, no matter how young they are.

After the break, Apostle John continued the teaching.

The soul is the command centre of the whole being. It is the soul that is either soaking in or rejecting.

The heart grows at the root of the soul. That is where the values are. The words of the mouth come from what is in the heart.

“The worth and excellency of a soul are to be measured by the object of its love .” Henry Scougal, The Life of God in the Soul of Man

What we love shows the value or worthiness of our soul.

Hebrews 4:12. The word of God is living and active.
We have to seek the word of the Lord
We read the word because we have a yearning to know the Lord.
While we are doing that, God intervenes in our hearts to remove the sins and thoughts that beset us

We need to seek ever increasing maturity in the Lord.

1 Peter 1:3-23
The prophets searched and inquired carefully but they received revelations in the searching.
We must not be conformed to the passions of our former ignorance. We must purify our souls by obedience to the truth. Love one another earnestly.

2 Peter 1:3-11
If we are diligent in pursuing the Lord, there will be richly provided for us an entrance into the eternal kingdom. If we do these things we will not fail.

Apostolic Summit 2024. Session 2

In Session 2 of the Summit, Apostle John Alley spoke about what the Bible says about human nature. WE are body, soul and spirit. The bible speaks about the heart and the conscience. How do these all fit together?

When you are eager to promote a gift or idea, you need to make sure that you are not inadvertently undermining other important things. Example of a man who promoted miraculous signs but in doing so downplayed the teaching of the word.

Jn 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life ; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I speak are life

We are body, soul and spirit. Cannot separate the three.

1 Thess 5:23-24. “may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless

Heb, 4:12 Word of God divides soul and spirit.

What about words like heart, conscience, etc? How do they fit?

Soul- contains mind, memory, will, emotions
Body- 5 senses, pain, adrenalin, Gut, Chemicals, fitness, sickness
Lot of interaction between body and soul
Spirit- knowledge, memory, revelation, spiritual gifts, discernment, conscience, inner witness, emotion… your spirit can rejoice or have dread

We are designed with this complexity because we have to live in the spirit realm and the physical realm.

Lots of interaction between spirit and soul.

Unbelievers are dark in their spirit. They have a conscience for example. The spirit is alive but separated from God until they are born again.

God can speak to sinners. eg Cain.

Your spirit can be weak or strong, bound or free. We need to work on our relationship with God. Ephesians 3:14-16

Psalm 139. I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Romans 2:14-16. Gentiles do not have the law, but their consciences lead them towards righteousness

2 Corinthians 4:2.The conscience provides the inner witness.

2 Corinthians 5:11 Conscience provides confirmation of Paul’s message

1 Timothy 4:1-3 A seared conscience.

The Heart

New heart when born again:

The heart is the sum of all the parts- body, soul, and spirit. It’s what is at the bottom of it all.

Our heart gives us longing for good things as well as sinful things. The Lord will give us the desires of our heart. That is why he tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus.

Romans 12:2. Be transformed by the renewing of the mind.

God looks at the heart.

Apostolic Summit 2024. The Start

The 2024 Apostolic Summit kicked off at Peace Apostolic Church in Rockhampton this evening (Thursday May 30th).

As always, we drove up,starting out at 7 am and arriving after 6 pm. It is on these trips that you realise how big the country is. From Narrabri to Rockhampton,m the road distance is well over 880 km, but when you look on the map it is barely a blip on the continent.

Usually Tim drives the whole way and enjoys the road trip. Today, he wasn’t feeling too well, so I drove the last one third of the journey from Taroom.

We stopped for lunch at a place called Condamine. The flood markers for the highest floods of the Condamine River are shown on the obelisk. What is scary is that the normal river flow is about 10 metres below this point. They really know how to do floods here.

It was great to catch up with the Cooper family who have been on holidays for a couple of weeks. They have been touring Queensland and planned their holiday to be in Rockhampton for the Summit.

Evelyn was unusually shy for the photo.

It was a great meeting with good praise and a great message from Apostle John Alley. John is planning to go over the basics of the apostolic message over the course of the Summit.

Here are my notes from Session 1.

In the mid 90s people were writing about apostles but it was premature. There was a mixture of revelations with a lot of human speculation.

John realised at that time it was bigger than restoration of apostles. The Lord was going to restructure the church to become an apostolic church.

Lots of people calling themselves apostles, claiming the name but using human techniques of church growth and leadership etc.

The new paradigm is relational rather than institutional.

The Apostolic Summit started in 1996 to teach the latest knowledge about the Apostolic Revelation.

Apostles are being released for the purpose of raising the church to a new level of spiritual maturity and authority.

The work of salvation history is far bigger than we can imagine.

The effect of the Reformation is still being worked through. It is all building to something greater.

Apostles are a different order of ministry. They are not just the old style leaders under a different name.

It is not about a network but about relational connection.

Spiritual Authority

We all need an encounter with the Lord that changes us. Jacob had to wrestle the Lord. Elisha had to request and chase the power that was on Elijah. They knew the Lord but needed to get that extra power.

International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders

John was invited to join in 2003. He had reservations but felt he should do so for the purpose of relationships. He felt very uncomfortable in the meetings.

He discerned there was a spirit of control at the heart of it. Spirit of conformity- that is control with the volume turned down.

He resigned membership but felt his apostolic mojo came back. More energy, clarity of mind, return of authority.

Seven Essential Concepts of the Apostolic Message

  • Church Reformation is still under way.
  • Restoration of Apostles
  • Restoration of the Apostolic Nature of the Body of Christ
  • Restoration of Apostolic Covering for churches and ministries
  • There is one church in every place
  • Restoration of City Eldership
  • Father and Son Relationships

Reflection on Isaiah 65

Scripture

“I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!”

Observation

The Lord was ready to respond but no one called to Him. He said, “Here I am!” but they did not call on His name. He is waiting for His people, but they are burning incense to idols.

The Lord will destroy the wicked, but He will preserve those who are truly His servants. He will preserve a remnant to possess the land. He is creating a new heavens and a new earth. Jerusalem will be a place of joy. Babies will not die prematurely, and adults will live to a hundred.

The blessings will be so great that God will answer prayers before they even pray.

Application

We live under the new covenant that Isaiah looked towards. It is not yet fully consummated as the creation still needs to be reformed.

God’s blessings towards his people are enormous. We don’t think of God answering prayers before we ask or while we are talking about the needs. God sees our need before we do, and His heart is so favourable to us that He answers before we ask.

This chapter begins with God expressing anger because He is ready to respond, but they don’t ask. In the new covenant age, He is happy to answer before we ask.

This does not say that we do not need to pray or to seek the Lord. Prayer is meant to be relational not transactional. We don’t pray to get answers, but from a need to be close to the Lord.

Prayer

Thank you Father for the privilege of prayer. Thank you that you desire to communicate with me. Amen.

Quote for the Day

The Christian no longer lives of himself, by his own claims and his own justification, but by God’s claims and God’s justification. He lives wholly by God’s Word pronounced upon him, whether that Word declares him guilty or innocent. Dietrich Bonhoeffer
