Incidentally, that is the reason most people do not want to be filled with the Holy Spirit; they want to live the way they want to live and have the Holy Spirit as a bit of something extra, as you might have a diamond stickpin or something very beautiful on your clothing. The difference between matter and spirit is that matter possesses weight, size, colour and extension in space. It can be measured and weighed and has form. But the Holy Spirit is not material, therefore He does not have weight or dimension or shape or extension in space. A. W. Tozer

I need to modify that, for I doubt whether any Evangelical ever denied the deity of the Holy Spirit. However, we certainly neglect Him and His lordship within the Church. This failure to honour the Holy Spirit has resulted in much desolation within the Church. A. W. Tozer

In other words, “the great tribulation” would happen once during the lifetime of His disciples and never happen again. We know this occurred at the destruction of Herod’s Temple in AD 70. There is no double fulfilment according to Jesus, who has the final word. Cindye Coates

For years, people in churches have remained ignorant and indoctrinated by a narrative lacking in historical context. The average Christian knew very little if anything about the ancient world in the first-century. Few pastors and ministry leaders took the time to study the historical fulfilment of Bible prophecy. It was the rebellious Jews in Jerusalem that were destroyed in AD 70 by the Roman Army. Those Jews refused to listen to the Gospel preached by Jesus and His disciples. They had hardened their hearts toward grace. They allowed their dead works and religious pride to destroy them. Cindye Coates

In like manner, God waited patiently for the apostate Jews to repent. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees in AD 33. They had almost 40 years to turn their hearts to God. They heard the Gospel preached as The Twelve and many others continued the ministry of Christ. Cindye Coates
