Revival in the Middle East

The news broadcasts seem to show an invincible Islamic advance throughout the Middle East, but in fact many Muslims around the world are converting to Christ in big numbers.

From World Revival Network:

The Underground Revival In The Middle-East That Might Just Take Down Islam

The churning, tempestuous world looks remarkably different than many imagine. This is undoubtedly true if you’re an average American.

In the darkest corners of the Middle-East there’s a revival beginning that’s unprecedented in the history of world missions. I’ve previously reflected on it hereand here, but I wanted to take this amazing story further than before.

I hope that you’ll journey with me as I explore unbelievable developments in the expansion of Christianity in the Middle-East.

Reliable reports suggest more Muslims have become followers of Jesus over the last two decades than in Islam’s combined 1,500 year history. Based on the accounts of several missiologists, it has been surmised that “more Muslims have committed to follow Christ in the last 10 years than in the last 15 centuries of Islam.”[1] In spite of great difficulty and turmoil, Christianity is unquestionably expanding throughout Islamic world. God is up to something amazing in a region that many have thought was unreachable.

Rosenberg’s Insights Into The Middle-Eastern Revival

Joel Rosenberg, an Evangelical researcher, author, and resident of Israel has documented the recent upsurge of Christianity in the Middle-East. Through first-hand reconnaissance, coupled with reports from Arabic nationals, Rosenberg demonstrates that Christianity is rising rapidly in the world of Islam.

Admittedly some of the following statistics have shifted in the aftermath of the Isis and other violent demonstrations against Christians. Those who follow Jesus have been slaughtered and have experienced severe persecution in this region. Nevertheless, Joel Rosenberg’s observations provide a window into many amazing developments.

Some of the particulars can certainly be debated, but in many of the Mediterranean nations, Christianity is making extraordinary inroads. Though the subsequent conversion figures are impossible to confirm, even in their imprecision, they provide a snapshot of what’s transpiring in the Middle East.

Church Growth in China

Nobody really knows how many Christians there are in China, just that there are an awful lot of them. Despite decades of persecution, the government has not been able to stomp out the church nor retstrict its growth.

This report from Catholic News Agency:

Why is Christianity growing so quickly in mainland China?

.- Christianity is spreading rapidly in China, and it could be because of how well the faith fits in with modern scientific technology.

According to the renowned sociologist Rodney Stark, the number of Christians in China is growing at an impressive annual rate of seven percent.

Stark coauthored, with Xiuhua Wang, the 2015 work A Star in the East: The Rise of Christianity in China. Stark views himself as a social historian and is co-director of the Institute for Studies of Religion at Baylor University.

Stark and Wang estimate that in 1980 there were 10 million Christians in the People’s Republic of China, and that in 2007 the figure was 60 million. These numbers yield an annual growth rate of 7 percent – which means that last year, there were nearly 100 million Christians in China.

They hold that this large increase in the number of Christians in China is driven by the conversion of the better educated, who are experiencing “cultural incongruity” between traditional Asian culture and industrial-technological modernity, which results in a spiritual deprivation, which Christianity is able to answer.

China’s intellectuals, Stark told CNA Aug. 14, “are very convinced they’ve got to turn West to understand the world they live in … and they’re convinced by my argument that eastern religions don’t fit the modern world they’re engaged in, and that they need to look to the West to find philosophies and religions. It’s quite amazing.”

Eastern religions, like Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism, Stark maintained, “are all anti-progress; they all proclaim the world is going downhill from a glorious past, and that we should look backwards, not forwards. None of them admit that we’re able to understand anything about the universe – it’s something we have to meditate on, not something to try and theorize about, as the physicists and chemists do. And that doesn’t fit with the world that modern Chinese are experiencing having happened around them.”

“Industrial society, and all the science it’s based on, doesn’t fit well with those kind of religious views,” Stark reflected.

“But the question of what does the world mean, and how do we live in it, persists – and so that’s a major motor in the Christianization of China, and it explains why it’s the most educated Chinese who are the most apt to join.”

The spread of Christianity in China, he said, has been possible even “during the worst time of Chinese persecution” under Mao Zedong’s cultural revolution of the 1960s and 70s because “this process of conversion is invisible; the government can’t see it.”

Mark Virkler: Stop Owning This!

Mark Virkler shares an important key to healing: Focus on what Jesus is doing not on what the devil is doing.

Stop Owning This! “Let me tell you about MY painful…”

Mark Virkler's picture

I vividly remember many years ago I met a person for the first time and they wanted to tell me their life’s story, so I listened for 90 minutes as they described to me, in great detail, every nasty, hurtful thing that had ever been done to them. We relived together every second of every story. Talk about depression overload. I would never let a person do that today, because it is far too damaging to their life.

They will never get healed of their hurts by repeating them over and over, visualizing them and living continuously in that darkness. By focusing on their pain, they are enlarging the darkness within them and it becomes their life, their identity.

Jesus spoke to me:“Whatever you fix your eyes on grows within you. Whatever grows within you, you become.”

Inner Healing Defined:“Allowing Jesus to remove the pictures in the art gallery of your mind, removing pictures that do not have Jesus in them and replacing them with pictures which do.”

Hurt, pain, sickness and infirmity are healed when they are brought to Jesus and you ask Him, “Lord, where are You in the midst of this event? Let me see You, please. What are You saying to me? Let me hear You, please.” Then you look for Jesus to appear. Relax and put a smile on your face, for you know that as He appears it is all going to be OK, plus your relaxing allows Him to appear, because you are no longer striving.

You tune to flowing thoughts (His voice) and flowing pictures (His visions), and you listen and watch, recording what He is saying and doing, and cooperating with Him in all the ways He is asking you to.This is inner healing! This works.

Now whenever you recount this story, in your thoughts or when talking to another, you describe what Jesus did as He appeared in the midst of the situation and spoke and moved. THIS IS WHAT YOU TALK ABOUT! You don’t focus on the evil or the pain. You spend your time focused on what Jesus did and said. Then His light grows within you, rather than satan’s darkness and gloom.

This process works equally well for physical, emotional or mental hurts and pains. You ALWAYS look for Jesus in the situation, and you always focus on Him and always recount what He is doing. It is called fixing your eyes on Jesus (Heb. 12:1-2) or abiding in Christ (Jn. 15) or seeing Jesus always at your right hand (Acts 2:25; Ps. 16:8).

More recently I have had people claim their infirmities by telling me, “I have this (insert the name of your physical problem).” Folks, I don’t want to claim any sickness or infirmity! I don’t want to affix it to myself. Instead, I want to journal and hear what the Lord says about this infirmity, and then speak ONLY that!

So I end up saying, “Jesus has healed this (state the infirmity) and set me free. Infirmity, be gone in Jesus’ name! Jesus spoke to me concering this and said….” I receive what Jesus has spoken. I declare it. I speak it over myself. I speak life and wholeness to my entire being – spirit, soul, body and mind: “You are healed. Be healed. Function normally, in Jesus’ name.”

And of course, since pictures are the language of the heart, I always ask the Lord for a picture of myself fully healed. He shows me and I choose to hold that picture constantly in the imagination of my heart. This releases God’s emotions, power, light and glory into every cell of my being. Doesn’t this sound better than claiming the infirmity as my own?

Zealots: Scot McKnight

Zealotry 2

Screen Shot 2015-08-23 at 9.52.43 AMZealotry is the choice to protect holiness by living beyond what the Bible says, and it finds in that zeal a source of immunity from being wrong. I contend that zealotry reflects an absence of trust in God’s Word. Its motivation is the fear of freedom. Its environment is inevitable: judgmentalism and boundary-marking that together destroy in different ways the unity in Christ. God’s people were not meant to be penguins, waddling all alike, but instead free, separable, unique individuals who live in community and fellowship across those differences.

I’ve never seen zealots who weren’t also judgmental; I’ve never seen those freed in the Spirit who were judgmental. The freed know the tranquility of where they belong in God’s society; zealots don’t know where they belong and therefore do not know that others also belong.

The freed love others and, in so loving others, care for their moral development; zealots seek to control others, and therefore do not love others properly. Zealots do not lead others into moral development but into conformity. They tie people into knots. [

Ann Voskamp- An Honest Conversation About Abortion that Asks Us Not to Turn Away

Ann Voskamp writes powerfully about abortin and the changes needed in the attitude of the church to make life a more powerful option than death

When I get the message that Sozan wants an abortion, it feels like all the air got vacuumed out of my lungs.

But I get it.

I once sat in a doctor’s office and the atomic blast of my own pregnancy test ripped through me and I’m telling you, it was impossible to breathe through the shockwaves, the thermal heat.

I’ve sat with Sozan in Iraq, in the windowless, no-plumbing shipping container where, she, her husband, her children slept on the floor through the winter. I’d watched her rock her sick baby. I’d watched her eyes howl, heard the raw ache in her as she told me how ISIS began the blood bath genocide of her people.

One year ago this week.

“The Lion Is Roaring and Awakening His Church” Amanda Wells, Brisbane

Whirlwind and Angels Awakening Us

On a recent Monday night, as I was speaking in our School of the Prophets, a prophetic word started to rise up in me; and then at a recent prayer meeting, I sensed the whirlwind starting, and though I believe it is for the Church at large it’s also for the Nation of Australia.

The Church is in the season of her greatest awakening!

Job 38:1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said…

The Lord is speaking in this hour; we need to incline our ear. The Body of Christ is being awakened by the supernatural activity of God in His whirlwind. His angelic activity is being released to arouse His sleeping Bride to a position of intercession and travail in this day, so as to birth the promises and prophetic words that have been declared over her.

The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is Roaring

The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is starting to do something fresh and poured out from the Presence of the Lord. Jesus Christ is waking up His Church.

There is a strengthening coming into the Bride. She is being established and increasing as she walks in the revelations of generations gone by, and it culminates into a powerful and mighty release of the supernatural in this day. (Photo by Jennifer Page “In His Presence – Lion of Judah” via elijahshopper.com)

Many Christians have been seeing the number “11” this past year, and we know that 11 was seen in 9/11. So when we begin seeing the number 11, God could be revealing that security issues are at hand, BUT when we begin to see 11:11 God is awakening us in this hour to roar and mark our territory, to take dominion and put fear in the enemy’s camp. I believe God is sending a clear clarion call for the intercessors in this hour, and it is also a call to the Church to awake!

When we see 11:11 then we need to realize that God is doing something!!! In John 11:11, These things He said…” and then added, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go (Greek poreuo which means to lead and bring order to life) that I may wake him up.”

The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is awakening His friend, His lover and His Bride, and as she awakens order and abundant life will be established in her territory.

The Nation Shakes and Wealth is Released

The Lion of The Tribe of Judah is bringing order and going to war over this nation. The Lord is going to shift the very seat of government and authority in the realm of the spirit, and there will be an increase of power and the release of amazing, incredible miracles and the release of wealth.

Haggai 2:6:9 For thus says the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts. The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, says the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, says the Lord of hosts.

There is a shaking for an awakening and a releasing of wealth and glory in this season! The Lion of The Tribe of Judah is Roaring and He is awakening His Bride!

ElijahList Prophetic Resources

When a lion wants to show his domination in a territory, he releases a mighty roar and the sound of the roar travels through the territory and releases vibrations in the earth and every creature that feels the vibrations, realizes, that a lion is declaring his dominion!

This is the season that the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, within the sons of God, will release a sound, a declaration of such dominion, that it will be felt in the earth beneath and the hills will shake! The earth has been crying out for the sons to manifest for it to be subdued under the Kingdom of God.

Time For Transformation

The Church will begin to release strategies for city transformation in this hour. The doors to the offices of government are swinging open. These are Heaven’s doors opening wide! Look out, look out for the manifestations of Heaven to overflow in your midst. You will come to these offices with strategies of Heaven in your hands. God is releasing scrolls, blueprint plans, for transformational change.

There is a roar that is coming from the sons and daughters, and it is going to break open revival in regions! The earth is going to see the authority of the sons of God and it is going to shake nations! When the nations begin to shake, we will also see hidden wealth revealed. Hidden riches and treasure that have been in darkness up until now!

Australia and the Nations: Arise, Shine!

Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Tasmania: arise, awake and roar! Awakening is at hand.

The nations are about to come to the brightness of her rising (Isaiah 60). As the Bride arises and roars we will see one sound, the Bride, coming into a place of unity and harmony, not of agreement in theology but in identity! It will be awesome in its emergence. We are going to see the spheres of influence lock shields, and when they do, there is going to be a release of power and the government of God never seen before in the nations. (Photo via Wikipedia)

The sons of God are realizing their identity and they are beginning to understand their positioning, they are seated in Heavenly places and from that position they are going to start to rule and reign with Him, and as they do, Heaven’s government will be demonstrated and His Kingdom power is about to be released on the earth! Sons, no longer is your identity going to be stolen from you; you have awoken and you realize who you are and to Whom you belong.

We suddenly will realize who is within us and as we do, a roar never heard in your region before is about to be heard and you are about to take dominion of the territory assigned to you as the roar puts fear into the heart of the enemy!

Heaven is about to occupy earth and we will see an increased activity of angels, restorations and healings, miracles, salvations, the supernatural, and many will witness the glory of God as it covers the earth. The Church is arising in all of her glory, beauty, splendor, honor and wealth!

Lyle Shelton honours the one man in Labor who stands for truth

From Lyle Shelton: “Our political class has fallen victim to a culture that has lost its capacity to reason.

How a decision to sit was the biggest stand for truth at Labor’s conference

Labor’s 47th National Conference in Melbourne at the weekend marked the party’s end of tolerance for the natural family as the gold standard for children.

It’s been a slow burn but it is now official. The party’s capitulation to the sexual revolution and Greens’ social policy is complete.

After 2019, any Labor parliamentarian who votes to support marriage as one man and one woman will be automatically expelled from the party.

There is now no room in the party for an aspiring candidate for office who wishes to uphold the definition of marriage that is in the best interest of a child.

As Labor’s president Mark Butler put the motion, the ‘ayes’ were loud and proud.

“All those against?” A solitary “no” which sounded like WA Senator Joe Bullock rang out. I was sitting up in the bleachers so it was hard to tell for sure.

Earlier as Penny Wong, Labor’s lesbian Senate leader, rose to speak she was greeted with a sustained standing ovation.

One man, the former head of the Australia’s largest trade union, Joe de Bruyn, could not bring himself to genuflect before the rainbow regime.

It takes courage not to go with the crowd. It takes even greater courage to do this when the crowd are the people of the party for whom you have given your life.

Someone with an iPhone snapped Joe and put him on Twitter. His decision not to bow was ridiculed with almost 200 re-tweets.

What the mockers will never understand is how much courage that took.

Earlier in the conference, Labor voted to make it their policy to support access to assisted reproductive technology for same-sex attracted people.

Watch now for Australia’s prohibition on commercial surrogacy to begin to be chipped at.

There was no debate about the ethics of denying children their natural mother or father, a necessary by-product of ART.

The irony of all this was hearing on the radio on the drive to work this morning the victims of the forced adoption practices of the 1950s-1970s telling heart-wrenching stories of removal.

Do we seriously think a boy growing up with lesbians will never have an ache in his heart for his dad?

I see how my kids love and relate to their mother. There is a maternal bond that two men cannot fulfil no matter how much the law tries to pretend otherwise.

The Greens and Labor talk a lot about the natural environment for birds and plants.  Labor’s conference said nothing about the natural environment for a baby.

And if you think I am being partisan, I am not. It is a Liberal, Warren Entsch, who is leading the charge to abolish husband and wife from the Marriage Act when Parliament resumes in August.

Our political class has fallen victim to a culture that has lost its capacity to reason.

Labor Leadership holds the rainbow flag

Yes, it is a sad day to see the alternative party of government vote to expel anyone who wants to support marriage as the best environment for a child.

But we must use this seminal moment in Australian politics to wake ourselves up and resolve to re-build a marriage culture.

Doing this will require speaking. It will require challenging the assumptions of our friends who have put a rainbow wash through their Facebook profile.

Ideas have consequences. If bad ideas are the only ones prosecuted in the public square, as was the case at Labor’s conference, then we should not be surprised if viral ideas take root in our culture.

Truth always resonates with ordinary people but it can only resonate if it is spoken.

By remaining in his seat, Joe de Bruyn stood for truth.

We all need to take a leaf out of his book.

Dispensationalism- The Deadliest Heresy

Dispensationalism- The Deadliest Heresy

Dispensationalism is a theology, that at its heart, teaches that God deals with people differently at different periods of history (“dispensations”). It is a wretched heresy that deprives Christians of hope and condemns millions to hell. It is the root of much popular christian teaching, especially concerning the end times.

It is wrong! It is unbiblical! It should be renounced by all believers.

So what is it?

History

Dispensationalism was invented by John Darby, the founder of the Plymouth Brethren sect in England in the 1860’s. He taught that, contrary to the teachings of the church for the previous centuries, the Jews would be “re-grafted” into the tree of salvation and that Israel as a theocracy would be re-established as a prelude to the end times.

Darby’s teachings did not gain any traction until they crossed the Atlantic where Cyrus Scofield put them into his Scofield Reference Bible, where notes, annotations and charts made the teaching as authoritative as the Bible itself. The popularity of the Scofield Bible made its presence felt in churches and then in seminaries across the United States until it became the most popular theological system in evangelical circles.

The rise of radio and TV preachers who were schooled in this system reinforced its apparent domination and the perception that it must be true. Popular authors like Hal Lindsey and Tim LaHaye spread its influence further.

Teaching

There are many variations on the theme of dispensationalism with anything from 3 to 8 ages or dispensations through history. For the sake of this article I take the simplest of these, the 3 ages model. For a more complete discussion of the models see the wikipedia page on  Dispensationalism.

The three ages are:

  • Law (Old Testament)
  • Grace or church age (New Testament)- from Pentecost to Rapture
  • Kingdom age- return of Jesus until eternity

So far so good. The problems emerge as go into specifics.
1. Salvation

According to dispensationalists of all stripes, people’s sins in the Old Testament period were dealt with by the Law and by animal sacrifice. There was no grace, just law. Only Jews could be saved.
Of course this ignores huge swathes of Scripture, particularly the prophets and the psalms. The prophets repeatedly said that the Lord hates their feats and festivals because their hearts are far from Him. The Psalms repeatedly talk about God’s loving-kindness, faithful love. The Hebrew word hesed means something like unfailing covenant love.

But it gets worse, because in its extreme form it becomes antinomianism, the belief that it doesn’t matter what we do because God forgives it all anyway. The Law is Old Testament so even the Ten Commandments are history. Yet we find Jesus and Paul both lay down instructions that are expected to be obeyed. We cannot live as we like and honour Christ,
2. Kingdom

This is a bit complicated. In the Old Testament age, God’s focus was on Israel. In the final age the Kingdom of God is established with a focus on a restored Israel, a new Jerusalem. The church age is just a blip, an aberration, because God’s long term plan is all about Israel.

Dispensationalists will even argue that the church was God’s Plan B. Jesus did not talk about a church, but a kingdom. He did not die to establish the church but to establish the kingdom.

This is a complete lie. The Kingdom is the Church- not the human structure but the collection of people who faithfully follow Jesus Christ. The Kingdom is wherever Jesus reigns as King in the hearts and the lives of people. The Kingdom covers the entire world geographically because in every nation, every tribe, every ethnic group there are people who serve Jesus.

The Kingdom of God is not a geographic or a political entity. It is the people of God. That is why Jesus said “My kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36)
3. Israel

Because they view Kingdom as a political concept and see God’s focus as being on Israel, dispensationalists place great emphasis on the nation of Israel. This is why Israel is such a big part of the foreign policy of the United States. There is nothing wrong with the U.S.A. supporting the only truly democratic nation in the Middle East. But Christians need to understand that God’s plan for the world does not involve the nation of Israel.
In 70 A.D. the Temple was destroyed by the invading Roman army. The old system of Temple worship was destroyed, because God no longer had need for it. The final sacrifice had been offered once and for all time in the body of Christ. There is no place in God’s plan for the nation of Israel. It is interesting that although Israel has occupied Jerusalem for decades there has been no attempt to build a Temple either on a new site or on the original site (which would provoke the rage of the whole Muslim world).
The Jews are important to the Lord, but no more than any other people group. More importantly, they are not saved by obeying the Law but by grace in Christ. That is the significance of Paul’s teaching about the divisions between Jew and Gentile being destroyed in Christ. (Romans 11:11-32)
4. End Times

Dispensationalists have a very distinctive eschatology (theory of the end times). This doctrine has become very widespread in the church at large, yet it is wrong.
Broadly they are pre-millennialists, that is that Christ returns before (“pre”) establishing His Kingdom on earth. There are variations on the theme but generally there is a Rapture in which all christians are snatched up to heaven in an instant. There is also a Great Tribulation, a time of great suffering in which the world is ruled by the Antichrist. There is disagreement about whether the rapture occurs before, half-way through or at the end of the seven year tribulation. Everything climaxes with a physical war at Armageddon in which the world’s armies try to overthrow the army of God.

At the heart of this story line is the interpretation of the Book of Revelation. The traditional view of the church through that ages has been that Revelation is a book of symbols. At times it is hard to understand, but that is because we don’t understand the writing style. Many theologians have said that the main focus in Revelation is to the events surrounding the destruction of the Temple and the persecution of Christians at the hands of the Jews and then the Romans.

Dispensationalists attempt to turn this on its head, trying to interpret Revelation literally where possible and assigning it all to the end times, i.e. to the future.
Through the ages, the church has understood the future to be “post-millennial”, that is that the Kingdom of God would be established by the church’s mission efforts. Gradually like the smallest seed the church would grow to become a great plant. Eventually the values of God’s kingdom would influence the whole world and after a lengthy period of Christ reigning in the world, He would return physically to wrap up history.
Is the church going to be reduced to a tiny remnant waiting for the Rapture when Jesus beams us up out of the mess? Or is the gospel going to ultimately conquer the hearts of men and women all over the world?
The problem with the premillennial view, apart from the fact that is historically wrong- the church is making huge headway all around the world- is that it discourages the church from the task of making disciples. What is the point when everything is just getting worse? It suggests an unwarranted imminence of the return of Christ so there is no point in planning even for the next generation.
Some people have suggested that it is precisely the expectation that things will get worse for the church that has brought us to the place of unprecedented weakness in the West. We have no faith in the gospel to convert the hearts of men and women and to transform the life of the nation.
We need a new expectation, a new eschatology, in which we confidently expect God to establish His reign in the world. We need to believe that God is stronger than satan and has a better destiny for the church than a last minute evacuation.
Conclusion

Dispensationalism, particularly its distinctive view on the End Times, has led much of the Western church into a wilderness. Rather than preaching the gospel boldly, believing that the Holy Spirit will give us the power to change nations, we have become fearful and weak.
It is time to understand the true nature of God’s Kingdom and His plans to redeem the whole of creation with His Good News.

How Often Should We Celebrate Communion

John Wesley recommended that Methodists celebrate Communion as often as possible. At New Life we celebrate Communion every Sunday and some times at cell groups.

Here is a good article by Allan Bevere explaining why this is so important.

ON THE DUTY OF CONSTANT COMMUNION: BECAUSE SOME THINGS ARE TOO IMPORTANT TO NEGLECT

July 20th, 2015

John Wesley, the founder of Methodism (along with his brother Charles) participated in the sacrament of Holy Communion at least a couple of times a week. He told his people called Methodists that they should take Communion as often as possible. In his sermon entitled, “The Duty of Constant Communion,” Wesley gives his reasons for constant Communion as well as answering common objections to those who believed the Lord’s Supper could be celebrated too frequently. In response to one objection that I heard often growing up in the church, Wesley writes:

A Third objection against constant communion is, that it abates our reverence for the sacrament. Suppose it did? What then? Will you thence conclude that you are not to receive it constantly? This does not follow. God commands you, “Do this.” You may do it now, but will not, and, to excuse yourself say, “If I do it so often, it will abate the reverence with which I do it now.” Suppose it did; has God ever told you, that when the obeying his command abates your reverence to it, then you may disobey it? If he has, you are guiltless; if not, what you say is just nothing to the purpose. The law is clear. Either show that the lawgiver makes this exception, or you are guilty before him.

In other words, the objection is that if the Lord’s Supper is celebrated too often it will lose its meaning to which Wesley basically responds, So what? If Jesus commands us to do this often and it loses its meaning, does that allow us to break the command? But Wesley continues:

Too Many Christians, Not Enough Lions”

If you thought the same sex “marriage” push is all about love and tolerance, then this may change your mind.

From Life Site News:

Pro-gay activists react to gay ‘marriage’ resistance: ‘Too many Christians, not enough lions’

July 14, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) — There has been no shortage of anti-Christian rhetoric from various media outlets in the fallout from the Supreme Court decision decreeing homosexual “marriage” across the country.

“Too many Christians, not enough lions,” a derisive reference capitalizing on the Christians martyred in ancient Rome, was also how one LGBT activist responded to Catholic Vote’s (CV) pro-marriage “Not Alone”video, according to CV President Brian Burch.

Released the day of theObergefell v. Hodgesdecision, the CV video logged more than 1.3 million views in the first 10 days.

“Seeing the power of our message, LGBT activists have now mounted a massive campaign to mock, ridicule, and shame us,” Burch wrote to supporters. “They have used every curse word (and more) to attack us personally. They threatened our staff with phone calls. And now some are openly calling for the persecution of Christians.”

Defaming of Christians, and Christ, continuedover atThe Huffington Post, where a column by Jules Suzdaltsev titled “Was Jesus Gay?” was picked up July 8.

“After the Supreme Court’s historic ruling on gay marriage,” the column began, “it seemed like all the proudly homophobic Christians came out of the woodwork to talk about how much they still hate gay people.”

“As a straight Jew, the homophobia amongst Jesus’s followers has always struck me as a bit of a surprise,” Suzdaltsev wrote. “Worshipping at the feet of a ripped, hung man, seems at least a little homoerotic.”

The piece went on to make derogatory comments about the crucified Lord and conservatives.

The original July 6articlecame from the websiteVice, where the author interviewed openly homosexual pastor Bob Shore-Goss, first asking whether Shore-Goss thought Jesus Christ was gay.

“I would hope he is. I would project that he is,” Shore-Goss responded. “For my own spirituality, I would love to jump into bed with Jesus. At the very least, Jesus was queer.”

The piece then endeavoured to present biblical evidence of Jesus’s homosexuality, including asserting that St. Paul was a closeted homosexual.
