Another lovely morning for riding. The rivers are high but the roads are dry. 😀

Zinzendorf stated his missionary theory along three lines. First, the missionary was to live humbly among the people and not dominate them. Second, the crucified Christ was to be the focal point of preaching and teaching. Third, the missionaries were not to seek the conversion of whole nations but were to look for the man of peace in a community, and search out for individual seekers. They would disciple men and women, calling them to make disciples worth reproducing. Jason Hubbard

.Good to be back on the bike again after a week away. The weather is very humid, making riding a little uncomfortable but it’s all good!

The Moravians were the first Protestants to treat world missions as the responsibility of the whole church. Under Zinzendorf, the Moravians became an intense and highly mobile missionary movement. Jason Hubbard

Zinzendorf’s passion for the lost grew hand-in-hand with his passion for Jesus. Equipped with just a handful of saints, a burning love for Jesus and the power of prayer, he made it his determined aim to evangelize the world. Jason Hubbard

Rather than simply praying for individual needs, the intercessors would cry out for other communities; for missionaries on the field; and for the gospel of the kingdom to be proclaimed in power and demonstrated in love. Jason Hubbard

Another beautiful morning. I rode out to Eulah Creek.

This prayer chain of unrivalled commitment swept through the community and ultimately lasted over a hundred years. The Moravians didn’t pray in just one location, but as they went about their normal lives in their homes, on walks, and during work breaks. Jason Hubbard

As the fire in the Jewish temple was never allowed to burn out, so the community at Herrnhut resolved that the incense of intercessory prayer should rise continually day and night in this new temple of the Lord. They believed that the right response to the sacrifice of Christ and the absolute worth of Jesus was their unceasing prayer. Jason Hubbard

Another excellent ride this morning. 😀
