The frosty mornings of last week were a strong reminder of the passage of the seasons of the year.
We complain a bit about the extremes of weather, but we have nothing on other parts of the world. In parts of Alberta, Canada, they have 40 feet of snow every year. In parts of Siberia their winter temperatures get well below -40 and in summer soar to over +40. That amounts to a different season every month!
In the areas of the globe close to the poles, the amount of sunlight goes from close to zero in winter to almost 24 hours per day in summer. The long dull winters sometimes lead people to become extremely depressed in a condition called Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD.
Our lives go through definite seasons also.
We start off as babies, totally dependent on other people to provide every need- physical, relational and emotional. As we grow and learn, we gradually become less dependent and more self-directed.
In the next season, we learn to stand on our own two feet, providing for many of our own needs while recognising we have a role to play in a community. We set off on a career and establish a permanent coupled relationship.
Another season is when we become parents, and take on the awesome responsibility for caring and moulding children.
The last season sees us retire from paid work, slow down and, for many people, we become more dependent on others again.
Each season comes with its challenges and joys. There are times of excitement and times of grief. But in all of these seasons God is with us and using all of these events to shape our character and to teach us to trust Him.
In Romans 8:28, we are told “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Wherever we are in life we can trust that God is with us, He knows us and He is leading us.
But without apostles rightly in place, greater power for the church is unachievable. The authority of holy apostles must be established yet for such freedoms to come. John Alley

Scripture
Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as if God himself were speaking through you Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
Observation
The end of all things is coming soon. We need to be earnest and disciplined (sane and sober in some other versions) in our prayers,
Above all, we must be loving to our brothers and sisters in Christ, offering meals or a place to stay when needed.
God has given each of us a spiritual gift, out of his wealth of spiritual gifts, Whatever our gift, whether it is speaking or serving. We must use our gifts to God’s glory And layering him to lead and direct us Seen everything. We do will glorify us.
Application
Every believer has the Holy Spirit in them. We all have access to the mighty power of God. He chooses to grace us with particular gifts For some, this is speaking publicly, while for others, it is serving people, offering a meal or a place in the home when needed.
The point here is that every part of our life must be surrendered to God to use. If we use our natural gifts for God’s purposes, we discover along the way there are spiritual gifts as well that we can draw on.
The key is to give it all to God. It is not about me, but about the Lord. We should see ourselves as vessels for His purposes. When we say to God, “Here I am; use me,” He gives us lots of opportunities to do His work.
Prayer
Lord, you know what I can do for you and for your kingdom, Please show me how to surrender everything to you. Amen
Every apostle, knowing the Lord’s grace, is mindful of personal circumstances and not afraid to be transparent about struggles, burdens, and weaknesses. The false apostle, so confident, boasts in perceived strengths. This grace alone so often will reveal whether we are dealing with a counterfeit or a real apostle. John Alley
