If “Jesus is Lord,” then this provides the basis for addressing his followers as servants/slaves. If Jesus is Lord of the cosmos, his authority extends to day-to-day details in the lives of those who belong to him. David Capes

Scripture
“But the gate way to life is very narrow, and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. “
Observation
Keep on asking, keep on seeking, keep on knocking, and prayers will be answered. If sinful parents know how to give good things to their children, how much more will our heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask.
The way into God’s Kingdom is narrow, and only a few will find it. The road to hell is broad, and the gate is wide open to those who choose it.
Application
God loves us, and His perfect will would be that everyone should be saved. This verse reminds us that only a relatively small number of people will find the way to salvation.
For all of our optimism and celebration of revival and people being saved, it seems that a majority will always choose the way of damnation.
The choice is before us. On Good Friday we recall that Jesus is the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. But He leaves the choice to us – will we receive His forgiveness or will we continue on the highway to hell?
Jesus died to set us free from sin. It is up to us to say ” yes” to Him.
Prayer
Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for me. Today I receive your free gift of salvation. Amen.
A light breeze this morning made riding a little harder than I would have liked, but a beautiful morning for riding to Jacks Creek and Gun Club Roads. #cycling #Narrabri

The confession “Jesus is Lord” is not restricted in time or to this or that realm. It is universal and cosmic. One day, Paul believes, all creatures will bow the knee and acclaim “Jesus Christ is Lord” to the glory of God (Phil. 2:9–11). David Capes

Nice ride to the Paul Wild Observatory this morning. The radio telescope is off for maintenance today. #cycling #Narrabri

For Paul the resurrection of Jesus from the dead took the Sonship of Jesus to a whole new level. By his resurrection Jesus is appointed (by God—a divine passive) to the special status of “Son of God with power,” who is none other than “Jesus Christ our Lord.” David Capes

Great ride to Eulah Creek this morning. Met some new friends 😂#cycling #Narrabri

Other than Christ (Christos), kyrios is the most frequently attested christological title in Paul’s Letters. He uses it over two hundred times in a variety of contexts, as we will see. He uses it alone and in combination with other titles to refer to the church’s Lord, Jesus the Messiah: David Capes
