Bondi Terror Attack

My heart is heavy this morning having watched the news reports last night of the awful shooting at Bondi. In a clearly anti-Semitic attack on a Hanukkah celebration in a park adjacent to the bridge, two gunmen killed at least 16 people and injured 40 others. Police have also found explosives in their vehicle.

The only upside of this horrible event is the hero who walked up to one of the attackers and wrestled the rifle away from him. The thing I have noticed in these events over the years is that there is always just one or two men who will put their lives at risk to tackle an armed terrorist. This man’s name apparently was Ahmed Ahmed, so obviously an immigration success story and potential nominee for Australian of the Year.

Blind Freddie could have seen this coming two years ago, following the Hamas atrocity in Israel. On October 8th 2023, thousands of people marched on the Opera House, which has been lit up in the colours of the Israeli flag. They clearly chanted “Gas the Jews!” Every single one of them should have been charged under racial vilification laws, but the NSW Government chose the path of appeasement. They got “experts” to prove that the chants were “Where’s the Jews?” as if that was somehow less threatening.

Since then we have had weekly pro-Palestine marches in various cities. We have had synagogues, Jewish schools and Jewish-owned restaurants burnt and homes vandalised. We even had two nurses from Bankstown Hospital boasting online about how they had killed Jewish patients.

The response from politicians has been “There is no place for antisemitism in Australia.” Well, clearly there is place for antisemitism in Australia because the very same politicians have encouraged it. They have pandered to the Muslim community, they have made a moral equivalence of antisemitism and the made up disease of Islamophobia, they have brought in untold numbers of migrants and refugees with minimal background checking, they have refused to confront the hate preachers who every Friday call for the killing of the Jews, and all in the hope of winning their votes.

It is time to restore peace and hope to this nation.

It is time to reverse course before we end up in the same place as UK and much of Europe.

It is time to end mass migration into this country, and to ensure that only peaceful people who intend to assimilate into our culture come in.

It is time to round up every hate preacher who does not have Australian citizenship and send them out.

It is time to enforce laws against racial hatred.

Above all we need to pray for this nation of Australia. This attack is a wound to our national spirit. We need God’s grace to heal us.

Anti-Semitic Incidents in Australia Surge 738% Since Last Year

19 DECEMBER 2023

A shocking new report reveals a skyrocketing increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Australia following the Hamas invasion of Israel.

Death threats, graffiti, beatings and chants of “intifada” are among a record 662 anti-Semitic incidents recorded in Australia in just October and November of this year, in a shocking new report from the Executive Council of Australia Jewry.

The same period last year saw 79 such events, marking a dramatic 738% rise in anti-Semitic incidents year-on-year.

In one incident, a group of 13-year-old Jewish girls in their Jewish school uniforms were pelted with food at a mall in Bondi Junction, Sydney, before having a box thrown their way decorated in swastikas.

A Jewish cyclist sporting an Israeli flag was the victim of another attack in Melbourne, when a female attacker grabbed his flag and two men pushed the victim to the ground before kicking him in the chest and back.

In a seperate incident that took place on a train in Melbourne, an assailant shouted at a Jewish man, “If I could get a hold of a machine gun I’d gun down 10,000 of you tomorrow.” He also threatened to “blow a hole through your synagogue,” and said, “Jews aren’t people, they’re pieces of sh*t”.

The ECAJ explains in the report that their figures are provisional and are likely to rise significantly as more reports come in covering the October-November period.

‘It’s a Shame for Our Country’

Alex Ryvchin, co-CEO of the ECAJ, has warned that in response to the surge in anti-Semitic attacks in Australia, Jewish parents have begun telling their children to conceal their Jewish identities in public, as reported by the Daily Telegraph.

“Parents are speaking to their children about not disclosing their Jewishness in public, about hiding Jewish attire and symbols,” Mr Ryvchin said.

“The fact that in our society, in our time, these conversations are taking place, that one segment of our community feels that unsafe and that vulnerable from other Australians, it’s a shame for our country.”

In a Sky News interview, Walt Secord, Public Affairs Director or the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC), said “I’ve lived in Australia now for 36 years and I have not seen anti-Semitism — the public expression of anti-Semitism — reach these levels in my entire life. It’s extraordinary.”

Mr Secord called the attacks “absolutely unAustralian”.

“We know that it’s a small group engaging in this activity but it’s absolutely unacceptable and it’s put the Jewish community on edge,” he added.

Global Surge in Anti-Semitic Incidents

A rise in anti-Semitic incidents is not just confined to Australia but has become a global phenomenon since the Hamas-led invasion of Israel on October 7 that saw 1,200 Israelis murdered, 6,000 injured and 250 taken hostage.

The New York-based Anti-Defamation League recently reported that anti-Semitic incidents in the United States have risen by 388%, the majority of which had direct links to the Israel-Hamas war.

Meanwhile in the UK, anti-Semitic incidents have surged 514% according to data from the Community Security Trust.

The Jerusalem Post reported in late October that a joint study found a global rise in anti-Semitic attacks of 500%.

Albanese Government Calls for Ceasefire

The shocking Australian report comes as the Albanese Government effectively revokes its support for Israel by voting at the United Nations for an immediate ceasefire in the war in Gaza.

It is an about-turn that has angered Israel and delighted Palestinian advocates, given Hamas’ genocidal intent for the Jewish people and desire to see the Jewish state annihilated.

The Australian Christian Lobby has launched a petition calling on the government to respond to the rise in anti-Semitism seen around the nation.

Melanie Phillips: Whoops, Whoopi: the Holocaust was all about race

The celebrity’s ignorance reflects the twisted views of an alarming number of people

Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg has got herself into a terrible mess. She was suspended from her role as co-host of ABC’s The View talk show after saying that the Holocaust wasn’t about race. It was instead, she said, about “man’s inhumanity to man” involving “white people doing it to white people”.

She insisted: “It’s about how people treat each other. It’s a problem. It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, Jews … everybody eats each other”.

This was clearly idiotic. The signature characteristic of German Nazism was that it set out to exterminate Jews as a race, identifying them as targets for annihilation on the basis of even a tenuous ancestral connection with Judaism.

Attempting to apologise in the ensuing storm, Goldberg made things even worse. Saying she had now learned that “Hitler and the Nazis considered Jews to be an inferior race,” she then told Stephen Colbert on his late-night comedy show that the Nazis had lied and actually had issues not with race but with ethnicity — which caused further outrage and prompted another apology.

This furore should not be dismissed as merely an ignorant celebrity making stupid and offensive remarks. For Goldberg didn’t arrive at these views in a vacuum. They reflect twisted attitudes held by an alarming number of people, but which are generally glossed over because these people are black.

Goldberg tied herself up in this unedifying knot because of her assumption that racism isn’t racism unless it is directed by white people against black people.
