More Hypocrisy on the Left

tolerance

Most reasonable people would think that school is no place to be showing gay “marriage” propaganda films.

So when the Education Minister bans the showing of the film “Gaby Baby” during school time, the usual suspects come out saying how this increases intolerance.

Really? The absence of a pro-gay film actually reduces people’s tendency to “live and let live” in regard to homosexual relationships? Can we expect a spike in gay-bashing next week because public schools aren’t allowed to show in class time one particular video this week?

Tolerance seems to be one of those code words that in an Orwellian fashion has been twisted to mean the opposite of its original meaning. It seems that it now means a compulsory celebration of something that one might disagree with but is not allowed to express opposition to.

What a strange and sad world we now live in.

Why We Need to be Careful.

It’s easy to assume that there is no hope for people in certan medical conditions. Sometimes we write people off too quickly. From Lifesitenews.com

Man wakes up after 12 years in ‘vegetative state’: reveals, ‘I was aware of everything’

Martin Pistorius hates Barney. And it’s no wonder why. For 12 years, while he was in a coma that doctors described as a “vegatative state,” nurses, thinking that he couldn’t see or hear anything, played endless re-runs of Barney as he sat, strapped into his wheel chair.

But Martin wasn’t the “vegetable” that doctors said he was. In fact, he could see and hear everything.

“I cannot even express to you how much I hated Barney,” he recently told NPR.

In the 1980s, Martin was a typical active youngster growing up in South Africa. But, then, at age 12, he came down with an illness that baffled doctors, and that eventually resulted in him losing his ability to move his limbs, then to make eye contact, and finally to speak.

His parents, Rodney and Joan Pistorius, were told that he was a “vegetable” and the best thing for them to do was take him home and keep him comfortable until he died.

But the youngster continued to live despite the diagnosis.

“Martin just kept going, just kept going,” his mom said.

Now, in a new memoir, “Ghost Boy: My Escape From A Life Locked Inside My Own Body,” Martin has revealed that, although he was initially unconscious as doctors thought, after about two years he started waking up, eventually becoming fully conscious of everything around him.

Martin’s dad, Rodney, cared for his son throughout the ordeal, and recalls the daily routine of rising at five in the morning to get Martin ready for a day at a special care center.

“Eight hours later, I’d pick him up, bathe him, feed him, put him in bed, set my alarm for two hours so that I’d wake up to turn him so that he didn’t get bedsores,” Rodney said in an NPR report.

Martin remembers, however, that his mom at one point lost hope, and while gazing at her son and thinking he could not hear her, said “I hope you die.”

But he did hear her.

“Yes, I was there, not from the very beginning, but about two years into my vegetative state, I began to wake up,” Martin said.

Killer Clowns Terrorise France

From the ABC:

Clown terror spreads in France, another teenager arrested

Updated 15 minutes agoTue 28 Oct 2014, 10:15am

A 14-year-old dressed as a clown has been arrested near Paris for attempting to attack a woman, in the latest incident of fake, evil clowns terrorising passers-by in France.

Complaints have poured in recently over “armed clowns” wreaking havoc in various parts of the country.

Police have detained several people dressed as the pranksters – some carrying pistols, knives and baseball bats.

The bizarre phenomenon has even prompted anti-clown vigilantism, forcing police to try to quell the hysteria by saying there have only been a few sightings of the terrifying clowns.

On Monday, a woman who had just got out of her car in Chelles, an eastern suburb 18 kilometres from central Paris, called the police, saying two clowns – one of whom was armed with a fake axe – had attacked her, a source said.

They escaped when a passer-by armed with a baseball bat tried to stop them.

One of the pranksters was later detained when police spotted him, white make-up still covering his face.

In a separate incident just half-an-hour afterwards, a dozen people wearing the smiling, white masks associated with the Anonymous hacktivist collective attacked three youths and stole their mobile phones at a station in Melun, a south-eastern suburb of Paris.

The “evil clown” trend previously seen in the United States and Britain only began in the north of France in early October.

In the town of Bethune, a 19-year-old received a six-month suspended jail term last week for threatening passers-by while dressed as a clown.

The “clowns” have been “mostly spotted outside schools, but also on public roads, in bushes, and in a square.

Their targets are often young children or teenagers, but also adults,” a police source in northern France said. It then spread to the south of France.

‘Clown hunters’ also on police radar

French police released information warning against armed anti-clown vigilantes taking to the streets.

“The National Police have received many reports of clowns frightening passers-by, but many are fanciful and the proportion of children,” the police service said on its Facebook page.

“Symptomatic of the impact of the internet, this phenomenon can generate harmful individual derivatives and disturbances to public order.

“On social networks, groups calling for collective mobilisations against clowns have appeared.

“Any person, aggressive clowns or hunters of clowns, discovered in possession of a weapon on the highway will be arrested.”

Police on Saturday night arrested 14 teenagers dressed as clowns and carrying weapons in the Mediterranean port town of Agde.

In the nearby city of Montpellier, a man disguised as a clown was arrested after beating a pedestrian with an iron bar.

Theories abound as to the origin of the not-so-funny trend of violence in a country where Halloween has yet to take hold.

The suggestions include a challenge launched on social networks, a popular video on YouTube showing a terrifying clown pranking people or even a recent episode of the popular TV series American Horror Story featuring Twisty the killer clown.

Newcastle Can Keep This One!

Massive red-bellied black snake surprises Newcastle wrangler called in to remove it

Updated 2 minutes agoThu 2 Oct 2014, 8:07pm

Wildlife wrangler Geoff de Looze is well accustomed to catching snakes and bagging them, but even he got the shock of his life when he found a massive red-bellied black snake at a job in the New South Wales Hunter Valley.

“Mate, this thing was huge. I don’t even think I’ve seen one [a red-bellied black snake] half its size,” Mr de Looze said of the massive reptile.

The snake had taken up residence at a Newcastle air conditioning firm in the suburb of Cameron Park.

“He wasn’t coming out, but I could tell straight away that this snake was something else,” Mr de Looze said.

“There were people all around me at the time, and luckily this one didn’t have a go at me. These snakes will eat brown snakes and can get pretty nasty.

“These are the jobs you think: ‘I should have brought an extra pair of undies today’.”

Romantic

This is the place where I proposed to my wife.

To be fair, it was a park then. It is now being turned into the Castle Hill railway station, part of the North West rail project. When the construction is complete they will turn it back into a park again. Magic!

Plumber Keith

These items have been known to cause grown men to cry and/or tear their hair out.

One of them once gave me nightmares for months.

When I bought one from the hardware shop yesterday, the assistant looked sadly at me and said “Good luck with that.”

What is it, you ask, that has this great power to instil such fear?

If you look carefully behind your toilet, perhaps scraping away years of dust and cobwebs, you will see that there is a rubber seal where the pipe from the cistern goes into the toilet pan. Because the water comes down with a fair bit of speed and then runs around the rim of the toilet, there is a lot of turbulence and the joint has to be well sealed.

Hence the rubber device, which has to fit very tightly on both the pipe and the toilet, otherwise you get a very wet floor.

The first time I replaced one, it took me hours to get the large end onto the toilet. Other people seem to have trouble with getting it onto the pipe.

Eventually I went back to the shop and asked what the secret is. It is so simple. You put the pipe end on first then roll the rubber back, turning it inside out. Then you insert the pipe into the pan and unroll the rubber.

Yesterday’s job took me about ten minutes, including removing the old one.

Then Margaret discovered our other toilet also had the same problem.

Two of those in two days, no tears or nightmares.

I should have been a plumber 🙂

A Sick Religion That Encourages Child Abuse

I was sickened when I heard of the outrageous story of a 12 year old girl illegally “married” to a 23 year old man.

Apologists for Muslim groups claimed that the man was ignorant of Australian laws. I believe the imam who conducted this procedure should be charged with being an accessory to child sexual abuse.

My blood boiled when I read this morning that the father of the girl was not some uneducated Afghan refugee, but a native-born Australian who converted to Islam. What a sick excuse of a man.

From the Daily Telegraph.

THE Muslim convert father of the 12-year-old girl at the centre of a child sex case following her “marriage” to a 26-year-old foreigner confessed his unhappiness at their union, but said “it was not my decision”.

But the fifth-generation Australian man, who allowed the pair to be married by an imam in his Hunter Valley home on January 12, now says he fears she is going to “die” from a broken heart.

He also addressed public outrage on the case following the 26-year-old Lebanese man’s arrest on Thursday, saying he might “cop a little bit of abuse off people but I will have to cope with that”.
