How stupid to deny you Lord

How foolish to pretend

There is no God or judge

There is no heaven or hell

…

Even worse are those who

Give lip service to you

Praising you on Sunday

Serving self on Monday

…

Keep me free O God

From all self-will

Make me humble God

And all my deeds right.

Lord I will praise you

In the morning when I rise

And the evening when I sleep

I will worship you with music

And sing your praises.

You thrill me Lord

You excite me with your deeds

And exhilarate me with your presence

I will praise you in church

I will worship you at home

And declare you are my God.

Lord Jesus

My shepherd and Lord

You care for me

Lead me in your ways.

With you there is plenty

In you is salvation

With you there is safety

Even in the darkest times

You will lead me

Even through death

And I will feast at your table

For ever

Like a marathon runner

The sun runs across the sky

Day after day

Never tiring

Never serving

The heavens praise God’s glory

But you relent and forgive
