And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Observation
The New Testament church is one that is totally focussed on Jesus.

Pentecost resulted in an amazing movement being born. The people were together because the Lord poured a huge love into their hearts for the Lord and for one another.

There were large scale worship and teaching events as well as house-based small groups.

The result of all this was what we would call revival but they would call normal church.

Application
There s a progression here that results in a growing church.

1. The Holy Spirit is poured out on all the believers.

2. They respond by building a God-centred community with lots of worship and sharing together

3. The lord brings people to salvation.

Any church where people are not witnessing to unbelievers is not a real church. Sometimes we see growth and other times not, but the gospel must be preached by all members for the church to be fulfilling its reason for existence.

Prayer
Lord I long to be in a New Testament church. Give me the spirit of New Testament believers so that I may heal the sick and proclaim your words. Amen.
