Lots of Photos

On Saturday I was happy to see the full moon rising on my afternoon walk. These photos were taken along the highway just out of town.

Yesterday in church we had a special cake for Wayne's birthday. Unfortunately Wayne wasn't able to come, but the show must go on and the cake must be eaten. The sacrifices we make 😀

Today, I felt like St Francis of Assissi as I toiled in my vegetable patch. Birds were attracted to my gentle holiness, or possibly to the grubs being unearthed as I distributed elm leaves around the vege patch for mulch.

We've had a few years of these birds nesting in our trees so they have grown up in our backyard and come to the conclusion that we are "mostly harmless."

Corellas have been breeding in big numbers in Narrabri this year and their strange attraction to plastic has caused a lot of damage. They have chewed through the wires for lights at the showground and the glue holding down the synthetic tennis courts. When they flock together at sunset it feels like the movie "Birds"

  1. Wonderful photos! Very funny about the birthday cake. I hope you at least sent him the picture of this beautiful cake!Intersting about the birds and the plastic. What a strange thing for them to do!

  2. We rescued some of the strawberries and sent the bottom layer home to him.I'm not sure of why the birds would be attracted to plastic. There were reports of some dead birds around the lake so it may not be good for them
