I was a bit worried about the actual time which has been stated as 6 pm, but which time zone?

I guess there's no need to cook dinner then. It will either be Rapture or earthquake.

Our news station reported that the 6pm time (here) was based on midnight in Jerusalem, but I don't think that's quite right as there is a 7 hour difference in time and 6pm would be 1am there, or maybe my calculations are off – a result of my befuddled brain!

They stated that it would be 6 pm local time wherever you were- which is a bit odd. So when it was 4 pm here and there were no reports of people going missing in New Zealand, it was clear that nothing would be happening. And that would have been still Friday evening I think where you are.
