Scripture
Finally brothers, goodbye. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the god of love and peace will be with you.

Observation
Paul tells us to aim for perfection. This is not a legalistic demand but a realistic appeal for holy living.

We are also to listen to Paul's teachings and take on board his instructions for life.

We are to be of one heart and mind, living in unity and peace with one another.

As we do these things, we will find that God is with us. He meets us as we step out to do the things He wants us to do.

Application
These brief instructions are deceptively simple- aim for perfection, be of one mind, live in peace. Yet these are impossible t keep out of human strength alone. We need God's help.

Paul promises that if we seek to live God's way, we will know God's presence and He will enable us to obey Him.

Prayer
Father, it is hard to live your way in our own strength. I need your love and peace. Please come and empower me to be like Jesus in all I do today. Amen.
