Scripture
Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place and I wasn't even aware of it.”

Observation
Jacob travels from Beersheba towards Haran. He camps for the night, resting his head on a stone.

Jacob dreams of a stairway to heaven with angels ascending and descending. The Lord speaks to Jacob from the top of the stairway and promises many descendants and the Lord's protection.

Jacob wakes up and marvels at his dream. He sets up the stone as a memorial. He calls the place Bethel- House of God.

Application
God is always with us whether we are aware of His presence or not. Everywhere we go is Bethel, the House of God.

Angels were coming and going at that place and Jacob didn't know it. How often angels minister all around us and we are oblivious to what is happening.

We need to think supernaturally. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to whisper His lpans, His desires, His revelations into our hearts.

Prayer
Holy spirit come and fill me. Open my eyes to what is really going on around me. Help me to be faithful to you and to seek your wisdom in every situation. Amen.
