Scripture
Instead clothe yourselves with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

Observation
Don't be in debt to another person except in the obligation to love. All the commandments come down to love.

The times are urgent. Jesus could return at any time so we must live as the people of light not of darkness.

We need to put on Jesus and avoid all the works of the flesh.

Application
We are caught up in this seemingly never-ending battle with our sinful flesh. The redeemed part of our nature wants to walk in the ways of Jesus but the sinful part wants to continue in sin.

The solution to this does not lie in more will power or better knowledge of scripture.

The solution is to clothe ourselves with the presence of Jesus. As we practise the presence of God, live lives of worship and intimacy with Christ, then we will find our hearts and minds being transformed.

The sinful nature will be crowded out by the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer
Lord I need more of you. Help me to go deeper into your presence. Help me to live in the power of a heart changed by you. Amen.
