Scripture
Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child God has made you his heir.

Observation
Christ came into the world at the right time, the perfect time set by the Father. He was truly human and fulfilled the Law of Moses,

He set us free from slavery to sin and the Law and adopted us into His family. God has given us the Spirit of the Son to unite us with Him. Note the strong reference to the Trinity in verse 6- Father, Son and Holy Spirit separate but together.

Now, because of all of this, in the grace of God, I am no longer a slave but a loved child of God.

Application
This is awesome! It truly is Good News! God has done so much for me, setting me from sin, giving me His Spirit and adopting me into His family.

I am no longer a slave to anyone but free to be God's child.

This freedom is not a licence to sin. Children have a responsibility to obey their parents, to imitate their example and to bring honour to the family.

Prayer
Thank you Lord for all you have done for me in Christ. Please help me to live up to this high calling. Amen.
