Lent Prayers

Thursday 1st

Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Genesis 1:8

From the very beginning, families have sometime been a place for violence or even just emotional hurts. Some of these hurts are intentional while others are unintentional. Who in your family do you need to forgive?

But even before the fat was burned, the priest’s servant would come and say to the person who was sacrificing, “Give the priest some meat to roast; he won’t accept boiled meat from you, but only raw.” If the person said to him, “Let the fat be burned first, and then take whatever you want,” the servant would answer, “No, hand it over now; if you don’t, I’ll take it by force.” This sin of the young men was very great in the LORD’s sight, for they were treating the LORD’s offering with contempt. 1 Samuel 2:15-17

Eli's sons were priests who were bullying and stealing from the Lord's people. Christian leaders are as prone to sin as anyone else. Some hurt the very people they should be protecting. Who are the christian leaders whom you need to forgive?

  1. i do think that some people need to realize that Christian leaders are as prone to sin as anyone else. forgiveness would come a lot easier if they did.

  2. Yes leaders are human and are tempted as we all are. But! God said,1 Chronicles 16:22 King James Version Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. And when Saul was delivered in to David's hands David said:1 Samuel 24:10 King James Version Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill thee: but mine eye spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD's anointed. We are to pray for them, they are called by God to do what they do. Remember how when Moses disobeyed God and struck the rock when God told him otherwise, God Himself punished this (the most meed man on the face of the earth, according to god Himself) man by not letting him enter the promised Land after all those years of leading the people. We are to respect their position, at the very least. In my church there are some people in the graveyard in the last few years for disrespecting and telling lies about My Pastor, who had done nothing wrong. We would do well to not get too big for our own britches!!!!!!!!!!
