Lent Prayer

Friday 23rd

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35

Love is an everyday grace. It's in the stress of daily living that love for others is tested and may grow. Pray for the grace to extend God's love into every place you go.

Saturday 24th

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:9-13

Jesus tells us to remain in His love. As we do that, love will become our default approach in every situation. Ask God to show you what it means for you to remain in His love. Ask Him for the grace for love to be your standard response in every situation.

Week 5 March 25-31
Theme: Words

Sunday 25th

From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:20-21

Our words carry power to bless and curse, bring life and death, raise up or tear down. Our words can draw others closer to the Lord or turn them away. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where your words have hurt others. Pray for the grace to bring people to salvation with your words.
