Scripture
If someone says, “I love God”, but hates his christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see how can we love God whom we cannot see?

Observation
We must continue to love one another for love id God's nature. God has shown his love for us in sending his Son to give us eternal life.

If God has loved us this much then we must love one another.

As we learn to love then God perfects us and removes the fear of God's punishment. To love God is to love our brother and sister in the Lord.

Application
At the heart of the gospel is the awesome fact of God's love for all people. He loves us so much that he sent his only Son into the world to rescue us from the power of sin.

As a follower of Christ I have received God's Spirit. This places on me a duty to love other people in whom God has placed his Spirit.

As we learn to love one another in the grace of God, we find that God cleanses us from sins such as envy, bitterness and greed. Our focus changes from self-centredness to God-centredness.

Prayer
Teach me Lord how to love my brothers and sisters. Amen.
