Scripture
Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Observation
The passage describes what could be called “The Ideal Wife”. It could also describe the character of any godly person- man or woman.

The wife of noble character is trustworthy in all things. She runs the family business efficiently- buying the raw materials of flax and wool and producing quality products. She works hard and buys property shrewdly.

She runs her household diligently, providing for the needs of the family.

Application
The Lord gives us all opportunity and responsibility- at home and at work.

To honour Him means that we give our best in all that we do.

The standard set in this passage might seem unrealistic or unachievable. The main point here is that God calls us to work with Him in achieving the visions He lays out before us.

Prayer
Father, I pray for the strength of body and of character to achieve all that you have placed before me. Amen.
