Scripture
Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Observation
If we are in trouble we should pray. If we are happy we should praise God. If we are sick we should call the church elders for prayer.

God is faithful and will answer our prayer for healing. Elijah was just an ordinary man, yet God heard his prayers.

We need to watch out for our brothers and sisters who stray away from the Lord. To rescue such a person covers over the effects of a multitude of sins.

Application
In every situation we need to focus on God. When our own faith is not up to the task, we need to seek out the elders, the brothers and sisters in the faith who can add their prayers to ours.

It is not about superstars of intercession. Even the great prophet Elijah was just an ordinary man with faith. When we call on the faith of others, we can know healing and forgiveness of sins.
