Even though Jesus was God's Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.

Observation
A high priest is chosen to represent people in their dealings with God and offer sacrifices for their sins. He must recognise his own weaknesses and offer sacrifices for his own sins.

Being high priest is not something we seek, but is by God's appointment.

Jesus is our high priest, appointed by God. Even though he was God's Son he still had to learn obedience to God though his suffering. Jesus became God's high priest, the source of salvation for all those who trust in him.

Application
Jesus is our high priest before God. He is the one who provides the perfect sacrifice, the perfect intermediary between us and the Father.

He is an eternal priest offering perfect salvation to all who follow him.

Prayer
Thank you Father that we no longer have to present sacrifices to be acceptable to you. Jesus did it all. Amen.
