Scripture
Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence.

Observation
God's plan was a mystery to previous generations, but in Christ the mystery is revealed. God has revealed his plan to the prophets and apostles.

The plan is this: Jews and Gentiles are part of the same body and share equally in the riches of God's inheritance.

The church is to display God's wisdom in all of its variety as a testimony to the unseen rulers and powers.

Because of Christ we can boldly enter into God's presence.

Application
Familiarity can breed contempt. We lose our sense of awe at the salvation message.

Paul describes Christ's sacrifice as a mystery. This does not mean that it is a puzzle to be solved. Rather it is truth that was hidden but is now revealed.

Paul tells us that the church is the embodiment of this mystery. As such every testimony about God's grace is a weapon against satan's army- a testament to God's great wisdom.

We should cultivate an attitude of wonder towards both the gospel and the church, marvelling at their power to destroy the works of the devil.

Prayer
O God, all your works are truly awesome, even when they come dressed up in human flesh. Help me to marvel at your grace and see your hand at work in the lives of the people around me. Amen.
