Scripture
It is the Sovereign Lord who helps me.
Who will condemn me?
They will all wear out like a garment;
the moths will eat them up
Observation
The Lord gives His servant words of wisdom for the weary- he knows the ways of the Lord and hears His voice.
He offered his back and face to those who tormented him, holding nothing back. He knows he is righteous and will overcome because the Lord is near. His accusers will be destroyed like clothes eaten by moths.
Application
This passage is one of four suffering servant sons in Isaiah.
Here we have a graphic description of Jesus' life. He brought hope to the weary and down trodden. He was falsely accused and punished. Finally the Lord God vindicated him and declared him not guilty.
Jesus, our Redeemer was foretold in so many ways, hundreds of years before his birth.
Our lives are not random events. God is with us leading our direction. Whether we are going through good times or times of immense suffering, God is always with us and He will bring us through.
Prayer
Thank you Lord for sending Jesus to pay the price for my sin. Thank you for the assurance that this was always a part of your plan. Amen.
