Scripture
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears and He will tell you what is yet to come.”

Observation
Jesus tells His disciples that He has much yet to teach them but the Holy Spirit is coming, and He will lead them into all truth. Like Jesus, the Spirit does not work independently but speaks what He hears.

The role of the Spirit is to glorify the Son by taking all knowledge, wisdom and grace from the Father and the Son and revealing them to the disciples.

Application
The community of God- the Father, Son and Holy Spirit- work together in complete unity to make known their common purpose- revealing Christ- in the world.

The Spirit of truth guides us into all truth- if we allow Him. Part of the discipline of following Jesus is learning to listen to the “still small voice” of the Spirit and allowing Him to lead us into the fullness of the revelation of Christ.

Prayer
Glorious God- Father, Son and Holy Spirit- lead me into the fullness of truth by showing me Christ in every situation I face. Amen.
