Yesterday before he left us, John Alley shared a prophetic word he had received regarding the world economy.

John said that the Lord had told him on a number of occasions that there would be a massive down turn in the world economy "in one to three years." By this he meant that it would start in about one year and reach its peak in about three years (2014 to 2017). Financial advisors are starting to counsel clients to get out of shares and go for safer alternatives such as cash accounts.

If this is true, then the wise course of events is to pay down as much debt as possible over the next 12 months or so and save like crazy.

We are seeing some of this unfold locally with the mines reducing their production and therefore their workforce.

I am no financial expert and apart from John's advice I have no inside knowledge of these things. I do encourage everyone to pray about their finances and seek God's wisdom.
