Scripture
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

Observation
The Lord calls Jeremiah to be His prophet. The Lord tells Jeremiah that He knew him before he was formed in his mother's womb.

Jeremiah's initial response is that he is too young to speak for the Lord. The Lord replies by telling him to not be afraid for He is with him.

The Lord then touches Jeremiah's mouth and says, “I am putting my words in your mouth.”

Application
How awesome it is to consider that God knew us even before He designed us. The Lord planned our life- who we are, our strengths and our weaknesses- long before we were born.

No matter how insignificant we think we are, we have been put here at God's express plan and purpose. The world tells us that we are the result of random chemical reactions or of blind fate, but really we are the hand-crafted design of the Creator God.

Prayer
What a joy it is to know, Lord, that you planned me and designed me from the very beginning. Please help me to understand this and to appreciate your great love for me. Amen.
