“In the same way there is joy in the presence of God's angels when even one sinner repents.”

Observation
The Pharisees and teachers of the Law complain that Jesus spends too much time with sinners.

Jesus responds that a shepherd who loses one sheep will leave the ninety-nine safe sheep to pursue the lost one. A woman who loses a coin will look high and low for the one she has lost and then celebrate when she finds it.

In the same way, God rejoices when a sinner repents.

Application
Those of us who are saved and righteous must always remember that this is not our own accomplishment. We are saved because we were once lost and God rescued us.

We must never look down on those who don't know Jesus and therefore do not aspire to the standards that He sets. Rather we should be like Him, hanging out with sinners and actively working to bring them home to Jesus.

Prayer
Please help me Lord Jesus to bring celebrations to heaven by telling others about your great love for them. Amen.
