Scripture
You love him even though you have never seen him. Though, you do not see him now, you trust him and you rejoice with a glorious inexpressible Joy.
Observation
We must be glad because there is wonderful joy ahead. We may have to endure trials for a while. These trials purify our faith and reveal that it is real.
We love God, even though we have never seen him, but we trust Him and rejoice in Him. We will be saved because of this faith in Jesus.
The prophets wanted to know more about this salvation. They wondered when and how this would come about. This salvation, now revealed in the gospel, is so wonderful that even the angels are watching these things happen.
Application
Sometimes people express a feeling that they would like to see Jesus as He walked around Israel. But, this verse and others in Scripture, say that there is a greater blessing for those who believe without seeing.
We love the Lord even though we have never seen Him. And we trust him and rejoice in a salvation that we have not seen or touched with our physical senses.
The reward of trusting him is salvation, eternal life with God. This salvation is a truly wondrous thing because it gives us hope for the future and peace that our present trials will make us fit for heaven.
God works his purposes out through everything in our lives; nothing is wasted.
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, for joy, that excitement about eternity. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
