Reflection on Psalm 32

Scripture
“So I confessed my sins and told them all to you. I said “I'll tell the Lord each one of my sins.” Then you forgave me and took away all of my guilt.”

Observation
The power of God's grace! He forgives us when we confess our sins. God doesn't want to keep a long list of sins ready to dump it all on us. As soon as we acknowledge our fault he forgives us. Awesome!

David talks about the weight of guilt and its debilitating nature. He describes is as making his bones limp and making him weary like the heat on a summer day.

Forgiveness brings freedom and new life, new energy and purpose.

Application
I'm reminded of the verse in 1 John 1:9: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What areas of my life need to be confessed and forgiven right now?

Prayer
Father I lay my sins before you. I recognise that my heart is an open book to you and you know me better than I know myself. I confess these sins to you….. I receive your forgiveness. Thank you Lord. Amen.
