And with that he breathed on then and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

Observation
Jesus appears to his disciples. He proves his identity by showing them his his wounds. The disciples are overjoyed.

Next, Jesus breathes on them, imparting the Holy Spirit to them. Among with the gift comes the authority to forgive sins.

Application
Peace, the Holy Spirit, authority over sin.

When we come into the presence of the risen Lord, He gives us all we need to live in His way.

Prayer
Thank you Lord for the impartation of the Holy Spirit. Fill me over and over that I might overflow your grace and peace every day. Amen.
