Scripture
Do not bring sorrow to God's Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.

Observation
Our faith must come out in actions. As followers of the truth we must speak truth and not lies. Anger gives a foothold for the devil because it causes us to do things we otherwise might not, so we must let go of all anger.

Thieves must stop stealing and instead make an honest living. We must let go of all forms of abusive language, rage, bitterness and slander. All of this is for the sake of pleasing the Holy Spirit.

Application
Following Jesus means that we must become like Him. All of our sinful ways need to be subject to His authority.

The call to repentance is a constant process, not a one-off moment when we start the christian life. We need to examine our lives daily and continuously surrender ourselves to the authority and direction of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer
Search my heart, o God and reveal to me anything that grieves you. Help me to let go of everything that hinders me from being a true follower of Christ. Amen.
